Bethesda has been busy! First Fallout 4, now Dishonored 2
Interesting idea that you can play as either Emily or Corvo. That connection between the two was one of the better story elements of the first game. I am curious to see if playing as different characters brings different powers and strategies. The implication is there in some of the powers she shows. Sort of like in Bioshock, where playing as Elizabeth forced you to play with a different approach than Booker.
Karnica (which appears to be the main setting) looks like it might be more of a creepy, steamy Australia as compared to the more gothic, grimy Dunwall/England. In what seems like another nod to the original Thief series (specifically Thief 2: The Metal Age), it looks like automatons/clockwork foes will be more prevalent as well. Not mention that the guy she chases down seems to have the same penchant for them.
No release date yet, but if this reveal is anything like Fallout's, then it will be sooner rather than later. Which means Bethesda's going to be getting all my money. ;-)

According to the post show last night, the guys from Arkane said that Emily and Corvo have completely different play styles and share very few powers or weapons between them.
They both use the same sword but their ranged attacks are different.Emily dosen't get Blink instead she gets something called Far Reach. Also both play through the same set of missions but they said that the story is completely different based on who you choose to play as based on the character responses. Also there is no co-op or switching between characters apparently the events at the opening after you choose your character excludes the other for that run.
They also did announce the release time frame at the post show it was Spring '16 so a bit longer to wait than Fallout.

$5 you can't switch because the other gets killed and you want revenge.
That's a possibility, although the ending of the first one implies they both lived well into Emily's reign before Corvo passes as an old man. Maybe the game might develop a start based on how you ended the first game as well (in a sort of Mass Effect style of good or bad endings).
Could be whoever you don't play as gets kidnapped or imprisoned as part of the story. Maybe added as an ally (the same way they did in the Knife of Dunwall/Witches DLC with Daud and his henchmen summoning ability) after you rescue/find them.Good information all in all.

If they're basing the story off the low chaos ending where Emily gets saved, I can't figure what would send them to another country. Have they released any information about the story yet?
After the relative disappointment of the new Thief game, I'm hoping this is as kick ass as the first one was but longer.

Atheral already mentioned part of it. Further details I have seen on the Beth blog is that her throne was taken by an "otherworldy usurper." The trailer further implies that she was set up by a group by painting her as an assassin (here). I would assume this last part was done by bringing up her family tie to Corvo, who I assume still doesn't have a great reputation despite his efforts.

Sounds like The Outsider strikes again then. Probably just in it for the kicks watching his favorite humans to see what they do next.

It does come off that way, given his "did you really deserve it" line he throws in the narration at the start - implying it was directed at Emily.

I really wish they'd drop Captain Boring as the Outsider. His parts of the game screech the whole thing to a stop so we can watch him awkwardly monologue through vague dramatic stuff with no expression or interest. A God of Trickstery Chaos he is not. Plus they have the perfect reason (non-reason?) To drop him. Who's gonna question when the King of shaking things up is different?
Still excited though. Loved the first one, even if the story was a little flimsy. Looking forward to blinking around and teriffying my enemies.

See, I thought the outsider's delivery was intentionally dry and monotone, he's bored , and that's why he's even given people powers and participating in the story.
He's basically a nearly omnipotent being who's tired of what he see's as monotony so he gives random "interesting" people a taste of power to see what they do. He implies that even that is getting dull to him as most people do the same things, fight, kill, take power for themselves. Which is why his intonation and delivery changes if you make it through the game with 0 kills and unseen. He actually becomes fascinated with Corvo because Corvo gives him something new and different to watch.

Exactly. He has millenia of ennui built up.
And the game (and his reaction) is so much more interesting if you go the "pacifist" route (which is often more horrific than just killing the targets).

So lots going on with Bethesda during E3; noticed the new trailer and the gameplay as Emily.
Looks like Delilah is back; and I suspect has more than a little to do with the situation that starts the game. It makes sense - given her attempts at Emily - but feels like it takes away some from Daud's actions in the DLC.
Surprised the Overseers survived after the last game - be curious to see how that played out.
Of all the powers seen so far, the Domino one looks very cool in action. I'm a little concerned it may be too OP once you master it, but the effect is impressive.
