for context: We are lvl 7. Im a "spellslinger" Wizard that has dumped most all my feats and all my skills into crafting, for constructs. I want to be a puppet master/have all these powerful, interesting "droids."
Well, 2 sessions ago we got a pretty big score for our lvl(nearly 40k for each of us), and a magical key. This past session, we sold said key for a ridiculous 800k..... Split, means 160k a pop. Oh, and by the way we have an airship, that we use to get around.
So my GM is awesome, and i've not only played with him forever, but i've known him even longer than that. I was not expecting this kinda turn of events for this campaign. Usually i have a good idea of what kind of power level/money level i can expect to be at, at any given time. I had this whole plan for this PC im playing, my only goal was constructs.
Now i have all this money, that the rest of my party is spending on items straight up, powering up to absurd lvls instantly... But, Im a little scared, cause with this much money... I mean, the whole idea of the PC im playing is making my money stretch with crafting feats and such. And yeah constructs are expensive, but for good reason. Like one bot i have planned, could easily 1v1 the strongest martial class in my party(even with all his money spent), and its only like 32k to craft after all is said and done. It takes time, sure, but once i power up im afraid im ganna take over everything.
So i need some advice. The people i play with see me as a min-maxer, which i am honestly. I love this game for all the flavor and stuff, but number crunching and theorycrafting is my favorite part. They are in it for the flavor for the most part, which i love. They ask my advice for the number stuff/optimal items/build path, the works. One thing they hate though, which they wont admit, is that i use the rulebook like a fricken bible. Im basing my whole build on taking advantage of the mechanics in the game(i run everything past the GM of course, no tech or auto firearms. everything else is fair game(no 3rd party))
I asked the GM if i can straight up buy my own airship, which he approved. I already have the materials for the massive kill bot(im ganna use him more like a trump card, cause seriously, he can 1v1 or 1v2 anything once he gets built) I have a homunculus i made for the sole purpose of being my flying pair of eyes, while i stay in my ship crafting. That still leaves me with an absurd amount of cash left(100k+)
tl;dr: Lvl 7 min-maxing crafter wizard just got the biggest score of his dnd career. Im scared
- - - Thank you if you've made it this far - - -
Keep in mind im CL 7, i have all crafting feats(no tech allowed) and 4-5 crafting skills. So help me come up with some cool flavor stuff i can do with constructs, so i don't spend all my money on being the min-maxer i am, and taking over the battlefield(having my friends hate me). Im having a blast with this character, and it appears my party has found there true loves too, so i want to let them have there fun.
THANKS!

Make constructs that will actually help the party.
For your fighter a helper droid that will hand him potions so all he has to do is swig.
A miniature spider droid that can help you with your crafting. Ship repairer droids.
Golem Armor (sadly think iron man) If someone is interested. Even if not it was an "experiment" to try it out.

That' true. I'm not going the, one shot big bad route. Alot of the plans that have been bouncin around in my head is more crowd control oriented. combat maneuver bots. Since im in an airship, i was thinking i could do some cool flying stuff. Animate a glider, ranged attacks/tanglefoot/grappling hooks. Lock people down.
Not only that, but my PC himself is control oriented. I use my weapon to provide DC bonuses on my control spells.

Do you have your personal basic items?
weapon, headband, belt, ring(s), cloak and armor(if you wear it)
I would, at least, buy the max INT headband to get a couple points higher in the craft skills.
Could also dump the money into the airship. Oh, making the airship into a construct could be fun.
Do your party members know you have the craft feats? Are you willing to craft for them? Might take the sting out of your min/max if you are willing to help them stretch their money too.
Another option is spellcasting services. You have a mobile base already, but installing a gate to your own demiplane, complete with the time, bountiful and positive energy will not just help you, but everyone else.
As for constructs, I assume custom is allowed, from Ultimate Magic? If so, building item carrier battle boars for the group could help. I will dig out the schematics later, but, iirc, it was a boar like construct that had bags of holding built in.
Swarms of homunculists can be useful as scouts and aid in battle (CLW SLA)

Yeah thats been my main thought process of making constructs. They are really easy to mod, and customize which is one of the main reasons im playing this crafter

I'd be more scared of why the gm gave you all that money if it's out of character. :-D
Haha believe me thats crossed our minds :p
I talked with him after the session last night, and he said to be smart with this money. He wants to see tactics, and smart usage of what he's giving us. ie. Raw stats are not ganna be enough in the coming fights

I agree with Petty Alchemy keep most of your gold intact, what I would do is craft some low level humanoid constructs to manage/maintain the airship for you. Otherwise once everyone else is once again broke you will still have cash and it may be necessary to bail the party out. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that selling the key turned out to be a big mistake.

Giving the PCs that much gold either means:
1) Your GM is insane, which sound unlikely given your history with him;
2) you need the key, like Petty Alchemy mentioned, and you are going to have to sell everything AND go into debt; or
3) Your GM is going to strip you of your items anyway as part of the plot (waking up dressed in rags working a slave galley is practically a cliché).
I would buy things that can't be taken away, like a Tome of Clear Thought. You can pick up a +5 version and still have lunch money for life.

I've been reading this. i think it was linked in another thread, i forgot. But basically it has highlighted the fact that, even though my party has 5 PCs, one of which is a pet class, and me having my own lil army if i want, we dont lack numbers; yet we lack an "arm" in our group.
Most of our buffing is all self buff (bloodrager self buffs/shaman self buffs/alchemist self buffs), and its leading all our encounters to be extremely resource dependent. The fights don't last long due to how many "hammers" we have, as well as quite a few anvils. Its not much of a problem considering we only usually do 1-3 encounters a day(in-game) allowing us to not be punished for poor resource management.
I wonder if there's a way i can fill that role with my bots. Being the "God" Wizard, i'm mainly an anvil to begin with, aswell as having access to buff spells.

Personally, I'd start looking small, rather than big.
Create various 1 use/day items for each of the party:
Dimension Door
True Strike
Obscuring Mist
Invisibility/Vanish
Ant Haul
Exp.Retreat/Excavation
Stone>Flesh
Monkey Fish
Liberating Command
Etc
Basically, give each of your team a 'survival kit'; some effects are for themselves (True Strike), other effects are for others in the group (Lib Command). This frees your action up to do other things.
Once you've given them what they want, give them what you want. For example, if you cast a lot of Reflex-targetting spells, hand out 1/day Unprepared Combatant items.
"Hey, Fred, hit the enemy rogue with a UnCom shot; I'm going to Grease him."
Magic Item Compendium is good for this stuff.
EDIT: I also think this route would create a better game for all. Rather than having NPC's (constructs) do all the fighting for you, it'd mean the martials remain relevant, plus give them things to do other than 'hit stuff', plus, it'd give the DM something to think about. An extra body on the battlefield just means he throws more enemies at you. If everyone is capable of Dim.Door or other small tricks, he's kept guessing.

This seems like good sense to me.
Your GM seems to have a plan and you will need all your gold, power or whatever.
I would add to MadGnome's suggestion, spread the gold you don't spend around in a way its unlikely you will lose it. And fantasticly unlikely you will lose all of it. And stock up on things that will keep you alive if things go really bad, like scroll of teleport.

If you're going to turn your airship into a golem, you might as well and make it a Transformer (tm) that becomes a giant mech golem.
Alternatively, you could make the golems you want, the martial curbstompers, but make is a guards for the airship; they never go on away missions so that they don't overshadow the PC.
However, if the DM tries to take all your phat loot away from you, you've got some heavy hitters that he hasn't really seen in action to help out.

My plan so far goes as follows (btw THANKS SO MUCH for all the input, it really helps)
Since i have my own airship, i need a driver. so.. check
then i can make my bodyguard(trump card/kill bot). keep him hidden, and have dimension door scrolls(or on my list) to get him into the fight if needed. (id be in the ship with him)
next, the flock. :D These little dudes will be a group of Homunculi, with SLA of make whole. very cheap to make, not much con time either. i plan on makin a good 4-5. they serve as eyes aswell. (trump card aswell if things get sticky + they can heal the ship in a pinch)
Im thinkin of some flyers as well. Animate some gliders, maybe bump there dex, give em grapple hooks + tangle bags. They dive bomb once a fight starts and lock down bad guys.
As far as gameplay is concerned, i plan on being in the ship most allways, but i have numerous ways of not only keeping in touch with everyone, but im more aware of whats going on then most of my party. I wanna use the fact that i can "be" multiple places at once to my/and my party's advantage.

This might be a little expensive, but one of your minions could be admantium and can transform into a greatsword.
Keys usually open prison cells or chains. Some idiot is about to release Fenris or something. Unless it's the biggest rust monster in history, in which case, a construct at least with a hardwood skin would come in real handy.

Have him transform into a Gun or Repeating Crossbow instead Maybe the new scifi robot type rules include laser stuff?

Don't make a kill bot (hear me out). Make a bunch of enhanced homunculi (use GP to get them to the AC/survivability of roughly CR 4 creatures). Add in powers. Stuff like Comprehend Languages, Bless auras, the ability to disguise as anything. I've got 2 reasons and actually did this with a 7th level wizard in a campaign a little while ago:
1. if the homunculi are weak enough, they won't get targeted.
2. they fill in ALL the missing "links" in the party

I think you should step out of your number-crunching comfort zone and use that wealth in a way that will shock your GM in a manner similar to how he shocked you.
Use it for intangibles. Role-play it away to nobles and commoners in smaller chunks to different ends, and build loyalty through commerce; invest it in such a way that you might never see a return on it in terms of coin, but in improving the world at large.
If you are concerned that you will be faced with insurmountable odds, then maybe the answer is not to empower yourself and your party, but to prepare everyone.
Just a thought.
EDIT: I would think it obvious, but just in case, I'd do some very careful planning and bookkeeping with this option. Politics are fluid.

In The Seven Samurai they trained the villagers up to warrior 1.
When you consider that with 20 bowmen and or spear throwers, you should get a crit every round.
Has your GM seen The Seven Samurai or The Magnificent 7? If they have, you are probably in. More an investment of time, but it gives the fighters something to do while you craft them cool gear.

upgrade that airship.
Generally speaking, mods to vessels run a LOT of money. And its very easy to lose them in combat.
Ironwood the whole ship to up the AC. Put in some area buffs for the crew. Add some magic weapons...ballista or cannons or what not. Some weather control and the like will probably be nice, too.

Well one thing you could do is build a colossal (Or whatever the biggest one is.) adamantine Shuriken golem.
Using the rules in building constructs and modifying them, You do the construct armor modification on the shuriken. Then get some gauntlets, boot knives and whatever else you can get to have a weapon somewhere on your body. A wand of weapon wand. Stick wands in all your weapons, allowing you to fly around, and use rays of light and magic missiles.
You are now Iron Man using only magical stuff.

On a practical side: inherent bonus.
On a fun/story side: Animated pie plates on the floor with continual prestidigitation (clean), for your own Roombas. Animated serving set to go with enchanted Create Food /Drink items. Hey may as well have an automagic galley onboard your skyship. Train profession chef and offer catering services.
I think this massive wealth influx means something major...but the rest of the party has gone with the power route via items.
Just got two words: Mage's Disjunction. Okay add 1 more word: sucks.
Since you have an open custom game for power you can make some seriously OP pets. But it is not something I would do.

Did the other thread reveal anything about the key, or why the GM provided the PCs with so much money?
He hasn't really revealed anything, aside from the fact he wanted to be a construct creator and is best mates with the GM, which depending how you look at it, could be a legitimate reason.
