It appears that I've come across an odd paradox.
The less prepared I am the GM something, the more my players tend to like it. I still need an absolutely minimum amount-an intro and a general outline-but more than that and for whatever reason my players' enjoyment seems to go down.
I've also found that if I hit the "sweet spot" of only 6 hours of sleep and on just a bit too much sugar, my alacrity and ability to improvise is greatly increased.
What do you think is the root cause of this?

A mix of planning so things don't fall apart combined with spontaneity to keep things organic and flowing. If i was to half-ass a guess.

If I may, O Great and Wonderful Mistress,
I as a GM never prepare anything other than a general idea of what is going to happen in a given session. This means the player feel more involved and invested in what is going on because their action mean more. When you go in with everything carefully planned out players tend become more passivE which means less investment.
Now of course there players who hate this style and want everything spoon fed to them...but your group seems to be players like me.
As for the 6 hours of sleep and sugar..I got no idea.

It beats my three hours of sleep on average, sugar or no
A goodnight sleep for me is about 4 to 5 hours...it really is just what I need. Though sometimes I need to crash for like 12 hours.
Now back to the thread topic...
Mistress Rysky,
What other RPGS do you or have you played?
And
How did you get into RPGs in the first place?

A bunch, lol
(Video game or tabletop? Going with tabletop for this response)
I was at a new highschool and saw a guy reading the Vampire the Masquerade rulebook, and having played the Redemption PC game and loved it, so I asked him about it. Before this I had no understanding of tabletop gaming, outside of pop references to DnD.

This is my experience too. I do all my games off the top of my head now with a vague outline. If you figure out why this is a thing please share.

Oh I loved VTM haven't played it in so long. sigh. I think I used to try and ply RPG's before I knew RPG's were a thing. I would invent (i was like 7) characters and we would play a game like cops and robbers with the charactrs I created (drew and drew horribly mind you.)

2) oh wow... uh....
Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars? Maybe, I'd have to think in it.
Legend of Zelda Wind Waker?
No, Majora's Mask!
Medievil 1 & 2
Brace Fencer Musashi
Megaman Legends 1 & 2 (F$@+ YOU CAPCOM)

So Rysky you inspired me to create a drinking game I was checking out the book of passion kickstarter thread and I thought "I wonder how long till I see a post from you." then I was like "hmm I wonder how hammered I would get if I took a shot for every time I saw a post by you on this thread."
Hehe, sorry, don't make yourself sick please.

What are your opinions on raccoons?
I and Floyd almost had a run in with two of them in the backyard.
Neither did i...they mostly ignore us as they were looking for food.
Years ago my cousins found a dead mother raccoon with kids. Only on survived but the kept it as a pet before it returned to the wild.

Risqué is also acceptable.
If it helps your decision making, TL, I have always assumed that rye whiskey was named after Mistress in celebration of it's distinctive tongue-tingling taste and the happy feelings it makes in your brain.
try pronouncing it Rei-sky
I think I'll pronounce it GAR-gin-flootz.
