So I have had a character idea for awhile now in which the character failed a save against flesh to stone and was trapped as a statue for centuries or so.
The intention is for the other PCs to reverse the condition and recruit my character.
So my question is:
What do you guys think would be cool time periods from the history of Golarion to originally be from?

Thassilon and Azlant seem to be the most written-about ancient civilisations and a character from some point in history when those still existed would have the most ready motives to choose from. Thassilon from before its corruption by the sin runelords might be interesting. On one side it'd now be a different world altogether, discovering what is left of the once proud empire, remembering how it once was..and on the other side discovering what tragic transformation it had gone through before its fall.

How about one of the dwarves during their quest for the sky... so coming up from the darklands to the surface.... just make sure you got stoned before the sky citadels themselves were all created, else you'll have a hard time explaining why you don't know where those lost ones are. =)
Besides, if the statue is underground, it offers a good explanation why it managed to go undamaged all those thousands of years.

This is really similar to an idea I had for my Oread boon in PFS - he'd been petrified for so long that when he was returned to flesh, he'd become infused with the essence of stone. Was originally gonna make him someone who ran afoul of a medusa, but the Runelords of ancient Thassilon did really seem to enjoy petrifying people who displeased them - or who served them, for that matter.

I would find it interesting, to have an Elf that was turned to stone before the Age of Darkness.
Discovering that half his people retreated to Sovyrian, on their home planet, Castrovel, and half retreated to the Darklands, and became corrupted, to become the Drow, all whilst he slept in stone, would be quite a surprise.
