Need help with Hunter

Advice

Hello, Paizo boards. I am Kha. I need help with my hunter. Since I find the hunter to be interesting, I want a melee hunter but can't decide on being either two handed or dual wielding.

I'm a CN Lizardfolk Hunter btw.

My stats as I rolled them (since our group doesn't like pointbuy):
Str- 18 (20 with the +2 to STR)
Dex - 15
Con - 16 (18 with the +2 to CON)
Int - 12
Wis - 14
Cha - 10

I got a lucky roll, with only one odd number. Anyways, two weapon build of two handed weapon build?

You're a strength build... two handed is better.

Of course, you could go natural attack with that race. Given the fact that you are 3/4 BAB, bite/claw/claw is somewhat better than TWF in terms of raw offense.

But if you are intent on those styles...why does it have to be either or?

The cestus is a light weapon that is kind of like a spiked gauntlet. It has stats similar to a dagger (except B or P), and you can still wield items in the hand it is on.

Grab a 1 handed weapon (longsword, scimitar, etc.) and just switch between styles on the fly. 2 hand when you need to make standard action/charge attacks, and TWF when you get in close.

Liberty's Edge

I'd recommend TwoHanded, it's simpler to build for, less feat intensive, and leave you able to hit hard when you can't fill Attack.

I don't like Twf for hunters because you don't really get any static damage to tag on.

Hm... thanks. Anyways for a two handed weapon, would a reach weapon be good? I was considering using a lucerne hammer or a guisarme? But I'll keep natural weapons in mind.

Reach weapons are really strong on a Hunter. And with just one feat investment in Combat Reflexes you can potentially increase your damage output by 75% a round (read on reach tactics and positioning). What is your Animal Companion? That can really have an impact on the best ways to utilize reach.

Considering either the Deinonychus or Tyrannosaurus.
