So, now I'm asking myself...

... how long have I been overlooking the 2nd and 3rd threads in this forum?

I just noticed that two of the three sticky threads have been removed.

I actually didn't notice either until you pointed it out... It must have happened recently-ish.

Not that I don't account for being blind either. Like driving by a sign and noticing it was different and then wondering just how long it had been since they changed it despite driving that way every day.

Hmm. In my case, I could blame missing it on too much work and not enough rest. But honestly, they could have been gone for weeks and I wouldn't have noticed.

Is this a subtle nudge to move us off Paizo?

We actually do the game a disservice by continuing our discussions here. Anyone signing up and checking out the GW forums will see a smaller community discussion than what actually occurs. This affects newcomers more than us older members, but those newcomer first impressions are vital.

I use the Goblinworks forums primarily, and exclusively for anything remotely important, but I just can't break this habit yet :)

What is holding you back from completely switching over? The lack of search and PM functions? Or something else?

Goblin Squad Member

Until they add PMs I still need to come back here to contact people, plus a lot of information is referenced here.

At the risk of summoning Tyncale's wrath (heehee!), I won't completely move until there's a PM function on GoblinWorks. Between wildly different time zones and play times, quite often the only way I can have conversations is via PM.

Bookmarking/favoriting posts for future reference would be nice, too.

I use the GW forums to communicate with devs or to have technical conversations.

The social community of the game is still here, and will continue to be until the GW forums have better tools.

The reason I'm still here has nothing to do with any shortcomings at goblinworks.com (although PMs would be nice). Instead, it has entirely to do with the fact that I have a lot of history here - it feels like home. 12,719 (well, 12,720 now) posts as Nihimon since January 5th, 2012 - and a lot of history.

I'm pretty sure the Crowdforging sticky was still there earlier today.

No RP sub forum, not able to post as Theodum, no PM

So I carry on doing Theodum threads here.

The GW forums are very lackluster at the moment. For a gaming forum, I find PMs, Search and a Dev Tracker to be invaluable. The layout over there is not particularly intuitive (I've yet to really figure out where people post over there- it certainly isn't in the more specialized fora that are immediately visible).

This forum isn't perfect, but it works better for me.

That was today the 2nd and 3rd stickies were removed. They were here yesterday. They had really old information on them and had apparently outlive their usefulness (in GWs opinion).

I say worse than "lackluster", it is inexcusable in light of the fact that you can create a fully featured forum for free and one with expanded features for about $7.00 to $12.00 per month.

The GW forum gets way more posts per day. It also gets more constructive posts and less of the tantrum throwing and "I am a special snowflake and if you disagree with me you are attacking me" nonsense you get here.

Nobody uses the specialized forum categories on GW.

You just need to click on "Last Update in Topics" at the bottom right of the forum home and you get threads arranged according to most recent post the same way they appear here.
