Where can you find level 13 Named NPC Clerics in Varisia?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but I figured it was a campaign setting question in general, not specifically related to any one module.

In Varisia, who are the Named NPCs capable of a lvl 7 Cleric Spell Resurrection?

I'm not sure about named NPCs (off the top of my head), but spellcasting services like that should be available in Magnimar and Korvosa, or any other settlement that is considered a "Large City" of 10,000 or more souls.

That's the general rule anyhow; specifics of eh campaign setting and your GM may dictate otherwise. I'd feel pretty comfortable looking in either of those places (maybe Riddleport and Kaer Maga as well).

For anyone wondering the same thing, I have found these one so far:

I'll keep looking for any in Korvosa, Riddleport or Kaer Maga.

Just helpful to know if you require the services or such a divine caster.

(I always found it odd that the named heads of each church were level 7 almost everywhere but that the general rule of thumb was big cities had these services at your disposal. Something didn't add up if all big cities have this service, but the head priests were all too low of a level to perform it ...)

So so far only one named NPC in Varisia is capable of it.

Good finds.

If you go by the Settlement guidelines in the Gamemastery book (I think), then a "Large City" with a population of 10,000+ should have 7th level casting available, which would cover both arcane and divine.

It's nice when the campaign setting specific information conforms to those generic rules.

Unfortunately, i don't have any books with me at the moment, so that's the limit of my help for now. :)

Korvosa has a few 13th lvl clerics also.

Pharasma: Bishop Keppira d’Bear (N female human cleric of Pharasma 13), high priest of Pharasma.

Ornher Reebs (LE male human cleric of Asmodeus 11), high priest of Asmodeus.

Archbanker Darb Tuttle (LN male half-elf cleric of Abadar 13), high priest of Abadar.

These are from the old Guide to Korvosa but I guess it's still valid.

Staunton Vhane, the “Forever Man” (NE cleric of Norgorber 15) lives in Magnimar's sewers.

Good luck getting a res out of him... :-)

The Forever Man would LOVE to cast resurrection for you. He'd even do it for "Free."*

Calistria: Shorafa Pamodae (CN female tiefling cleric 10), high priestess

Cayden Cailean: Arnando Rolf (CG male human fighter 3/cleric 5), "High Publican"

Besmara: Ruben Carfay (CN male human rogue 1/cleric 7), current head

In Korvosa, there are established temples of Sarenrae and Shelyn as well. Their high priests aren't detailed in Guide to Korvosa, so I'd assume that they're lower level than D'Bear, Reebs, or Tuttle. (They can't cast 7th-level spells.)

Non-canonical Korvosan NPC clerics in my campaign:

Ellandra Velloria, high priestess of Shelyn. Bard 5/cleric of Shelyn 3/mystic theurge 5
Viorec Korvaski, high priest of Sarenrae. Rogue 2/cleric of Sarenrae 9.
Zeldra Rallick, cleric of Urgathoa 4, priestess of the Pallid Princess at the Pantheon of Many.

Depending on your version of Varisia and where you are in your version of Golarion's timeline, the retired PCs who saved the world in Rise of the Runelords, Curse of the Crimson Throne, or Second Darkenss, might be around somewhere-- probably running a tavern somewhere out-of-the-way, as that's the typical retirement plan for former adventurers.

I'm pretty sure there are a few Clerics of Lissala in Varisia that are high enough level.

Given that Magnimar is the only "big city" in Varisia, that's about right.

Korvosa is the largest city in Varisia and also has 13th level clerics as noted above.

Ardathanatus is at Windsong Abbey, not in Riddleport.
