As the title aptly states, I am looking for PCs who would like to play in the Ravenloft setting using Pathfinder rules, set after the Grand Conjunction. As a semi-recovering Ravenloft junkie, I know the setting intimately and would LOVE to have some people willing to sign on for a campaign. If you are interested in the prospect, post as much, along with your top 5 domains of dread and a short character blurb as well, if you know either of the two at present. If there are enough posts by Friday, I will create an actual recruitment.
EDIT: This will NOT be the alias I use during the campaign, so no worries about mood-spoiling! :P

Divinitus |

You're in luck, because I have almost every module, including the rare A Light in the Belfry, complete with the soundtrack! Feast of the Goblyns is quite fun though.
rorek55, are you familiar with the setting? If so, then you will be pleased to know that Paladins get alternate mounts based on their faith. For example, Paladins of Ezra can call forth ghostly white horses from the mists, while those serving Belenus or the Morninglord get one of the noble Sun Steeds. Of course, Paladins are rather interesting to play in general within the misty borders of Ravenloft.

Aardvark Barbarian |

I'm interested. I'm an old Ravenloft fan from 2nd Ed. I have a tragic master summoner that I played through the first book of Carrion Crown, before the game dissolved. Delia here and her eidolon, Father that I would love to get to play again.
Though I can't think of the domains themselves, I will tell you some of my favorite Darklords (in no particular order, as much as their story).
Strahd, of course, great couple of novels.
Lord Soth, loved that he found a home after DragonLance
Azalin
Mordenheim (and Adam)
Funny anecdote about the Light in the Belfry adventure (if it's the one I'm thinking of):
We were playing one of the Ravenloft audio adventures, and our DM was so proud to get to use it, and paid such close attention to the cues for each part of the audio cassette. It was based on getting to an old abandoned house on a stormy night, basically seeking shelter.
We approached the house, and decided to investigate the exterior before risking walking inside. The first place we went, was the stables. As we entered, he played the audio and it included seeing a shiny piece of broken glass. Then continued to add, "... one of the Thirteen Shards." All ominous like, before the DM was able to stop the tape.
So, we were like, "Hmmm, I guess were supposed to find Thirteen Shards?" said in imitation of the cassette's deep pronunciation. From that point through the whole adventure, whenever we found one, we would be like, "This must be, One of the Thirteen Shards"
Now it's a long running joke in our gaming group, that whenever the GM does an accidental reveal, someone will add, "This must be, One of the Thirteen Shards"

Glad to see so much interest! In light of so many showing interest, I am officially declaring that a recruitment will be up within 24 hours!
Aardvark Barbarian, nice to see a member of the 'old guard' here. That character looks quite interesting and should be great once she is tailored to Ravenloft. Have you any idea where she would be from? And, just for reference...

Risbeth Von'Hogmede |

Hmm, Risbeth here might be a good fit, after retooling.
Are firearms going to be available? Risbeth was originally built as a discworld alchemist vampyre, which is probably a bit too powerful for Ravenloft (the vampyre part, not the discworld part, as that would just be silly, not overpowered, obviously).
I've had some small exposure to Ravenloft before, although I think a dhampir might work well for Risbeth here.

Divinitus |

RJ the Wolf, do you still own the 3.X book? That is the book I am using as a 'primer' for PCs. You may still want to check the PDF out, because mine is the one with extra artwork!
Aardvark, no worries, the books will be up when the recruitment thread goes up.
Risbeth, Dhampirs are quite acceptable, though as with all 'stigmatized races', you will want to not flaunt it, else peasants may come bearing torches and pitchforks! Firearms are also allowed, though as with Golarion, they are considered 'newer'. They are part of the Ravenloft canon though, so you will be pleased to know that you will not have to pay highly inflated prices... unless you buy a special model that is more powerful or has a unique feature.

Divinitus |

Risbeth, that depends on which Domain, or country, you are in. Some domains have the beginnings of Advanced Firearms, others are mired in the Emerging Firearms stage, while others have no knowledge of firearms at all. Which is more fitting for your character? I can suggest which Domains are fitting for your chosen stage.
RJ, that's unfortunate, but still, you get to see the version with more art!

Risbeth Von'Hogmede |

Risbeth walks softly, carries a six-shot hand cannon, and is quite insane, but in a discworldish way. She just tends to see problems as a series of escalations. Diplomacy, Intimidation, Violence, Ultraviolence, parking a wagon full of scrap iron and gunpowder in your lap and firing it, followed by getting angry.

GM The Dark Powers |

Heheh, Gunslingers are quite cool in Ravenloft, especially with all the 'special ammo' available.
Camris, are you talking about Ravenloft II: The House on Gryphon Hill? If so, then probably not, because that adventure's timeline is a good bit before where the current timeline sits. It IS an intriguing adventure though.

Is this looking mostly at the Sword&Sorcery Ravenloft Book for 3.x?
I think I still have it around somewhere...
My preferred type of domains are the more Renaissance-y ones such as:
Richemulot
Paridon
Dementlieu
Mordent
Spent a lot of time playing in Richemulot and Paridon in particular, of course Barovia holds a certain place as "the classic" Ravenloft.
As to a character, I am thinking towards some sort of Investigator type... though I need to muse on it a little.
Any particular rules/house rules etc that you'll be using.
Also worth noting that I'm UK based, so I may post at odd times compared to the US.
EDIT: Thinking of a Steel Hound Investigator, probably an ex-police from Paridon.

GM The Dark Powers |

spinningdice, yes, the campaign setting will be using the 3.X timeline, as I like how things are after Ravenloft's 'Grand Conjunction' event. As far as houserules, those will be listed in the recruitment, though I will say there will be a CoC-style 'sanity point' system replacing the typical 'madness saves'. No worries on odd posting times, because I am slightly insomniac. I'm on Eastern Time, so it's a little past 6:30 A.M. here. Fun, right? :P Does your investigator follow the pseudo-religious philosophy of Paridon? Also, if you go to the Fraternity of Shadows website, you can get their free gazetteer on the Zherisia cluster, which is composed of Paridon and Timor. Try to stay away from the spoilers though, yeah? ;)
RJ, do tell! :)

Okay, I'll have a more serious think and adjust to whatever creation guidelines you come up with.
I've stumbled upon the guide to the Zherisia cluster and have been skimming through it.
It's worth mentioning that I've run the Hour of the Knife previously, don't think any more of the adventures we played were actual published ones.

HighonHolyWater |

I have read your first link and would like to be able to read more about the campaign setting you are using.
Is it possible to play a dhampir with a dark streak that, because so many seem to hate him or avoid him, he wants to shed his humanity and embrace his vampiric side, become like his father. That would be his personal 'thing' whether or not your game would allow that quest to come to fruition. He would start off as true neutral and if your game allows evil he may slide that way, if not he will still work as neutral.
What I have so far is likely going to be a sorcerer with the sanguine bloodline.

GM The Dark Powers |

spinningdice, the good people at the Fraternity have done quite well with the Zherisia Gazeteer and should give you a wealth of information at your fingertips.
Dread Doppelgangers.
Risbeth, oh, it's a thing that the campaign is on lol. Will have the actual recruitment thread, character creation guidelines, and reference documents for PCs up after my one college class is over today.
Elians, see above.
HighonHolyWater, I will probably PM you during a lull in class. There are things that you should know about that decision.
Katya, glad you think so!

GM The Dark Powers |

Both have their place in Ravenloft. Tried and true heroes who are oppose the darkness on all levels, moral and otherwise, are on equal ground, viability-wise, with somewhat dark antiheroes who fight fire with fire. One caveat you should be aware of though: those who use evil as a tool risk the blessings... and curses, of the Dark Powers, a price that may or may not be one they were willing to pay.
