A new Mordant Spire escalation

4 hexes in the South westerly direction of the Emerald Lodge - the crater hex. Hasn't spread yet - but that is likely only a matter of time.

Hope's End is close, Blackwatch as well - Hammerfall as close as us.

At the moment at 53%. Either it gets killed fast or it will stay.

To late (GMT) to organize anything now myself aoart of ringing the alarm bell - but maybe EBA is interested in protecting Hammerfall.

Happy to lend all help that Emerald Lodge can give - but that is outside our league.

Happy to get any tips from Golgotha.

Well, the Keepers are looking for some more practice. We might organize something to head that way. We're happy to work with any other Companies interested.

They are tough and it might be grueling but you're in a much better situation to handle them than we were since you and everyone else has tier 2 gear starting to churn out. If big enough groups show up and like it those cultists will be out of your hair in no time.

And with tier 2 gear everyone can make much shorter work of them than we could in our tier 1.

I think people should also fight them in tier 1 gear just to empathize with our historic pain. :-)

The most important tip is that the Mordant Spire escalation will not spread far (1 hex in each direction? Maybe a little bit further...) and is one of the few escalations to actually terminate itself after some time. So it's not actually necessary at this point to fight it if it's too powerful for you.

Thanks - this is very important information. It is far enough from EL not to bother - on the other hand as Midnight said - there should be an advantage to fight them now as we have tier 2.

It might be a good real test if the players in this game can manage this escalation and kill it off.

I willbe in contact with Keepers as well as with Golgotha for intel and anyone lose who likes to join.

I'll also urge anyone out there to keep the devs apprised of what it is like to fight them in tier 2 gear, since the escalation disappeared just before we got our tier 2 production line churning.

In the Paizo thread (in which we shared our experiences while in tier 1 gear) the devs suggested these will be more manageable in tier 2 gear.

I get a sense that will be true, but sharing your personal experiences may be valuable in allowing the devs to tune/scale these for the dev intended level of difficulty.

Last week, a moderate group of Phaerions went up to Mordant Spire when it was next to Golgotha. At peak, there was two full groups with mostly Tier 1+2 equipment. We had no trouble taking them on. Of course, there were a few deaths, but most of them were new characters in starter gear that we brought along.

We got some really nice Tier 2 recipes.

I went from that Mordant Spire Slayer achievement (I think that was what it was called) level 0 to level 5 in that one adventure.
