Shapeshifting and Overwhelming Beauty

If I'm a kitsune with the Overwhelming Beauty trait and shapechange into a human, will the trait's +1 bonus to mind-affecting effect DCs apply to humans? In other words, can I gain the benefits of the trait by making creatures believe I share the same subtype as them? While I technically don't have their subtype, the ability works by virtue of appearance and charisma

It doesn't work for two separate reasons.

By RAW, you do not change type with polymorph effects, and therefore anything that relies on type does not change. It could also be ruled that Overwhelming Beauty is an ability that is dependent on your original form, and would stop working when you shift forms anyway.

This said, an overwhelmingly beautiful kitsune who transforms into an overwhelmingly beautiful woman would be very cool, and correspond to similar stories from literature and legend.

By the Rule of Cool, it should work, regardless of what RAW says about creature types.

So, by RAW it doesn't work.

However, as Wheeldrake notes one of the shapeshifter tropes is transforming into a beautiful woman. To that extent, I might consider allowing it to work on Humans when you are shapeshifted into a human. But only on humans (not even half elf, or half orcs as I'm already being generous). And the Kitsune form would only work on other Kitsune.
