Should I buy Northern Crown?

Advice and Rules Questions

I'm having trouble getting concrete information on what the book entails. I already own Nyambe, and if it is similar (a fictional analog to North America that I can plug into another campaign setting), I would be interested. If it had fictional Native American inspired cultures that I could use in another setting, that would be useful. If it is the actual North America but with magic, I would not be interested. Can anyone tell me which Northern Crown is?

I have both. I would say it is to 17th and 18th century America what Nyambe is to Africa.

It does include Native American stuff.

Where Nyambe is pretty close to the power level of Pathfinder, Northern Crown is probably less powerful.

I got my hands on a preview, and the map looked exactly like North America. Is that the case for the full product?

I would say it is more the latter. There is some Native American stuff in it. But I found more of the book to be concerned with the immigrant cultures and Uropan (European) machinations in North America.

Still, I would say it is worth the purchase. I have both Nyambe and the two Northern Crown books. Good stuff.

It is a fictional analogue of colonial america, not a world of darkness style historical colonial america with hidden magic. The norse colony was successful and still has a region, for instance. It has muskets and such blackpowder. I believe Nyambe is explicitly in the same world and referenced in the books.

It seemed closer to real world stuff than Nyambe and Hamunaptra but not full blown WoD style or Colonial Gothic. I think that is from doing the colonial period versus fantasy Africa amalgam and fantasy Egypt.
