Moving On to Burnt Offerings

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

A group I play with just completed the Black Fang's Dungeon scenario and we are moving on to the Burnt Offerings adventure. As we move on, are we supposed to keep all the Perils of the Lost Coast cards and mix them with the Burnt Offerings cards as well (excluding of course the villain and henchman cards in the Perils adventure). Additionally, I will be adding cards from the Class Decks that have the "1" in the upper right corner of the cards. Am I doing this correctly? That is, can we keep all banes and boons from previous adventures/scenarios for randomizing into the location decks of adventures/scenarios that we are currently doing?

Yes. Keep what you have in the box, add everything that is #1. There is a rule for removing cards, it appears on the Adventure Path card and doesn't come into affect until deck 3.

After you begin The Hook Mountain Massacre, whenever you banish a bane with the Basic trait, remove it from the game; whenever you you banish a boon with the Basic trait, you may remove it from the game. After you begin Sins of the Saviors, do the same for cards with the Elite trait.

Even some of the henchmen from B/C will be reused in later adventures (like the Bandits which are used by some locations). I'd recommend keeping your villain and henchmen section alphabetical to make finding what you need as quick as possible.

Many thanks, Hawkmoon. By the way can I now add all of the cards in the Character Add on Deck as well? I'm thinking...the more possibilities, the more fun. I just hope that as we level up that the old cards don't become such easy kills and acquisitions that it becomes dull or methodical. Thanks again and God Bless.

It's only required to add the Addon Deck if you are playing more than 4 people as the base game only supports a 4-character game. The Addon simply expands the party size capacity upto 6. The Addon can added immediately; even if you hadn't started the Black Fang adventure.

One thing I've seen mentioned about adding the Character Addon to the box, you should probably make sure you create 6 total characters, even if you are only using say 3 or 4 of them. Adding the character addon to the box will dilute the box and create more chances to get a BASIC item, which you will then most likely just start removing from the game when you get to deck 3. If you create 6 and just leave the unused character decks in the box it will tie up some BASIC cards and allow you a better chance of getting a better boon.

Dunno, the game's not that hard that you have to make characters to just sit in the box so you can improve your chance for better boons. It's your game so if it makes it more fun, then I guess so ...
