I have a quick question regarding an odd situation. My group has been plugging away at the Skinsaw Murder's and just got to the point where they encounter Vorel's Phage.
Our paladin decided that he had to vanquish evil, no matter how... and he decided to *eat* Vorel's Phage/mold. Per the description of the paladin ability "Divine Health", he is immune to all supernatural and magical diseases - ergo, the DM gave his reluctant approval. The witch used prestidigitation to flavor the mold as beef jerky; the DM argued this was not possible, so the witch flavored the paladin's mouth as beef jerky instead.
What is done is done. There will be no retconning this; I'm just curious: can the paladin actually eat the mold with NO consequences? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

If he has the Divine Health class feature. Yes, he should be immune to the disease of Vorel's Phage. Gods help him if he falls while that stuff is still in his system though.
It's certainly an unorthodox disposal method, but RAW, it works. I'd ask the paladin to make sure he relieves himself very very far from camp at night for a few days as well.

To be fair, I don't think that ingesting the mold would actually end Vorel's evil. Aldern was harvesting the stuff for who-knows-how-long, and that seems to have no noticeable effect. IMO, while the paladin is immune to the Phage, Vorel is immune to being eaten by paladins.
On an unrelated note, I'm reasonably sure that is the weirdest sentence I have written on these boards, and almost certainly anywhere else.

I think the AP is pretty clear on this point - Misroi is right.
Page 108 AE version: "The patch of dangerous fungus can be temporarily destroyed by fire, acid, or the application of at least 5 vials of holy water, but the foul stuff simply regrows in 24 hours unless the site is subjected to a hallow and a consecrate spell or a dispel evil spell."
Eating the fungus would seem to be equivalent to burning it or applying holy water. Perhaps the paladin's stomach acid is holy? The fungus will return the next day. The fungus isn't Vorel, it's a manifestation of the corruption from Vorel. Vorel's spirit is bound to the house as a consequence of the failed attempt to become a lich.
Related note: I didn't like the methodology provided in the AP for dealing with Vorel since my group nor anyone they knew could cast the 5th level cleric spells listed. My group would have beat their heads on the wall quite a bit and been frustrated. And would have been focused on finding a caster as opposed to pursuing the rest of the chapter. So I invented my own method which the players could and did puzzle out:
cast magic circle against evil to contain the spirit
cast remove curse to break its tie to the house
cast consecrate to force it out from the wall
The spirit manifest as an Allip (Bestiary 3) and in addition to wisdom damage, allip's touch attack delivered Vorel's Phage.
This way the methods were within the players' abilities and the experience award for dealing with Vorel was more tied the pc's actual actions. I prefer my players do things directly rather than hire it done. "We had a great adventure - we traveled to the Big City and convinced the High Priest to come to our little village and solve our problem for us! It was awesome!"
