How to decide the price of a magic weapon? I am afraid I miss something about the rules.
Core Rulebook, Magic Item chapter, Magic Item Creation section.
For enhancement bonuses (+1, +2, etc) and for abilities that are priced as bonus equivalents (such as flaming, keen, vorpal, etc), you do as follows:
Calculate the total effective enhancement bonus of the weapon. For instance, a +1 flaming frost weapon is a +3 equivalent.
Then, multiply the effective enhancement bonus by itself. For instance, for a +3 weapon, multiply 3 times 3, which gives you a result of 9.
Finally, take that number and multiply it by 2000. For instance, 9 times 2000 would be 18000. Thus, a +1 flaming frost weapon would come out to 18000gp.
That's the bulk of your price. Add the cost of a masterwork weapon: 300 plus the base weapon price from the weapon chart in the Equipment chapter.
If you have any abilities that are a flat price instead of a bonus equivalent (such as glamered), add those to the final total.
And finally, add some more gold to the price to cover any special abilities you made up yourself. You'll have to pick that number with your own judgment.
Now hurry up! :)
