Dragon Spear
Price: 4,500GP
CL: 10
This + 1 Spear is shaped like a Dragon. Each spear is shaped like a different dragon but all are made out of metal. The back end has a slot where one could put an alchemist weapon like an alchemist fire or wand. Depending on what type the dragon is depends on the effect that is has. If the spear is a Red dragon you could put a Alchemist fire it or a wand of burring hands in it (A move action that provokes attack of opportunity). The spear gives the Alchemist weapon or wand + 5 feet, + 1 on attack, and + 1 damage, using a wand or Alchemical weapon in this way is standard action, and this has no effect on wands or alchemist weapon that are not from that dragons element. You can use a charge from a wand, as a swift action, to give the Spear the elemental weapon property or burst if the wand is at least 3rd level that the Dragon uses, Such as Flaming for a Red dragon, or if the weapon already has the corresponding property add an extra damage dice.

I tried to repair the grammar. I hope it's easy to understand now. It's a neat concept.

I create this one, it is non-magical. It’s an Exotic Weapon
http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2rol1?The-Whipblade
I create the mythic Whipblade weapon that we love since we know it exist. It is a blade which one of my personal character develop in the 3.5 days ago, and I were recreated it for PFRGP
2: Whipblade
(Exotic)
(Customizable mechanical Sword)
Double weapon, Trip, fragile.
Melee 1d8 (19-20 X 2)
Ranged (whip form) 1d6 (20 X2)
4 lb,
Cost: the normal price plus, triple masterwork (2 for the both weapons in the weapons [whi abd blade], and one assuming the mechanical devices cost).
It came with the Numerian technology, and was created by the Bugbears who dwell there, in the search for a truly weapon which can do more than only slash their prey. Also they want to bring pain and suffering to their enemies.
It is a blade, created with sectioned sharpened-hollow metal plates attached to a metal string from inside, with a trigger (like a gun) mechanism in the hilt.
Mechanic: when you push the trigger (swift action to activate and free action to retrieve), the blade unleashes the spring inside it and lets the plates unfold and sectiones into a 5 metal sharped plates which extend 10ft long.
Shadowdancers are proficient with it, and there are other versions of this blade (Short, Scimitar and Bastard).
Whipblade (Short)
(Exotic)
(Customizable mechanical Sword)
Double weapon, Trip.
Melee 1d6 (19-20 X 2)
Ranged (whip form) 1d4 (20 X2)
2 lb,
Whipblade (Scimitar)
(Exotic)
(Customizable mechanical Sword)
Double weapon, Trip.
Melee 1d8 (19-20 X 2)
Ranged (whip form) 1d6 (20 X2)
4 lb,
Whipblade (Bastard)
(Exotic)
(Customizable mechanical Sword)
Double weapon, Trip.
Melee 1d10 (19-20 X 2)
Ranged (whip form) 1d8 (20 X2)
6 lb,
The whipblade version of the weapons, weights the same because they are hollow blades, also, they suffer a halved condition (hardness 8) because of how they are made.
The fragile condition won’t break the weapon, only activate the trigger. but you need a full round action to reassemble the plates into the solid form. If a foe tries to sunder the weapon, he or she is subject to a point blank shot.

Plague Doctor outfit-
Due to the nature of the plague bringer, they often need to wear highly protective gear in civilized places. A few mundane items are added-
Plague doctor's garb 25gp-
This thick black cloak with black gloves prevents any from of contact with anything but the face while worn. While this is not enough to insulate magic spells, it can keep a plaguebringer's diseases to themselves, preventing them from infecting others. Removing a glove is a swift action if both hands are free, allowing the wearer to touch another person with their deceased touch. Lastly, this robe gives those who wear it a +5 to saves vs contact diseases. This outfit takes 3 rounds to don.
Plague doctor's mask 25gp-
A mask filled with ineffective perfume. Farley useless.
Provides a +1 to saves vs airborne diseases, and a +1 to saves vs scent based effects.
Plague doctor's mask, filtered 30gp-
A mask filled with actual filters. These filters give a +3 to saves vs airborne toxins and desease.
These filters can be laced with antiplauge, increasing the bonus against disease to +10. This lacing lasts a week before it must be replaced. While laced with antiplauge, a plaugebringer's breath is purified- he cannot use his breath weapon while wearing the mask, and will not release airborne diseases though his breath.
Strapping the mask on is a move action, and taking it off is a swift action. Moving the mask up to allow use of the breath weapon is a free action, taken as part of using the breath weapon. Moving it back down is a free action.

The Scry's Glass
1lb (CL 4)
500gp buy cost (500gp craft cost)
This small transparent glass orb has nearly invisible runes glazed onto its surface. By silently touching the runes in a specific order the orb activates for a duration of 1 hour.
The orb records all normal (and low-light) sights in 360 degrees up to a 60ft radius. At the end of the hour the orb stops spying.
By touching the runes in a specific order again the recorded vision will be played on the surface of the orb at twice normal speed. The image can be stored forever, but once played it is lost.
The images are too small to identify words written on paper unless the orb was directly on the papers. The orb also distorts images with round edges, this forced viewers to pass a 10 disguise check to identify individuals faces (+10 to any disguises already present).
A common use of this item is for players to summon an unseen servant and have it patrol the rooms ahead in a dungeon. Then players can get a look into the rooms when the invisible (and nearly invisible orb) servant returns. Another use is to secretly spy on meetings, or gather intelligence.

I would that the gauntlets should be a touch attack if they hit only one person or reflex if you plain on it being a blast effect.
How about a touch attack to hit a specific target, but it had a blast radius of 5ft around the target. A miss means it hits one of the 8 squares around the target. Creatures within the blast radius take damage equal to the amount of ki points spent. Reflex save to half damage.

That might work but how would you know which squire is hit if it misses?

1. Mirror of True Self perhaps? Shows you demonic if you're CE, angelic if you're LG and such.
2. Ha!
3. Have you seen the Kineticist? They are all about blasting and roll attacks. Your damage mechanics are very similar. The ki blast could crit on a 20 for x2 damage. The Kineticist uses Con for their attacks, but since this is based on a ki pool, I'd go with Wis.
In short, 1d20 + BAB + Wis Mod for the attack.

Rod of Reckless Casting
This rod grants Quick and dirty casting 3 times a day.
Quick and dirty Casting.(Metamagic)
You cast a spell quickly, but you set off a random magic flash.
Prerequisite: Non-lawful caster, non book memorized spell.
Benefit: Sorcerers and Savage Mages can cast a spell as a swift action. The Random Magic Flash, which could be good or bad, happens 100%. Wild surge or Rod of Wonder charts can be used.
Normal: Sorcerers could not cast quickened spells who's casting time is more than a full round action. Quicken spell adds 4 levels to the spell.
“This particular rod is made of a strange silvery metal. On the side is an engraving of 10 known gods bowing down before the goddess Eris, who is on a throne.” Either a knowledge religion check or simple logig will tell a character that the command word is “Hail Eris”.
Construction cost: 75,500
Additional chart for this item.
1) The rod channels positive energy 5D6.
2) The rod channels negative energy 5D6.
3) It rains copper pieces for 5 minutes around the rod user. Total of 1000 copper pieces. They are slippery like a grease spell, do a point of subdual each combat round, and will instead distract anyone wearing a metal helmet.
4) A 5D6 soundball (like a fireball but sonic) shoots out of the end of the rod.
5) The nearest dead creature rises as a ghoul till the rod is used again.
6) Everyone within 50 feet must Fort save DC 20 or become a squirrel for 50 minutes. Fur color will be skin color. Living or dead, they will change back at the end of the effect.
7) H sized muffin falls on random being.

Where do I submit this?Shadowborn |
I'm 4 hours, 11 minutes too late.
Arrrrrrg!
I can try again next year, so any suggestions? Is it balanced? Would it have been rejected anyway?
A bit of advice:
First, read the rules of the contest. You publicly posted your item on the boards, breaking anonymity. This is grounds for disqualification right off the bat. If you want people to give you feedback for an item you want to submit to RPG Superstar, do it via PM, or email, never publicly. Also, you're only an hour and 40 minutes too late. The deadline was 2 pm PST (5 pm EST).
Second, read the rules of the contest, seriously. Everything you need to know about the contest, the rules, and how and when to submit is linked on the page for it, along with an FAQ. Knowing what the contest is all about and how to get in should be the first step before you even start on an entry.
Shadowborn |
Okay, here goes. I'm not sugarcoating this, you'll get my initial impressions as I read it.
General impression: This is a very complex metamagic rod.
More specifically: This is a metamagic rod for a feat that didn't exist before this rod was written. That's kind of putting the cart before the horse. Better to use existing abilities so you don't have to eat up your word count with an entirely new feat. In fact, you didn't need to write a new feat. Metamagic rods allow the caster to apply the feats without bumping the spell level anyway. You could have saved yourself some words by simply stating "This rod acts as a [lesser/normal/greater] quicken metamagic rod, except... ."
Speaking of the feat itself, it's pretty powerful. Essentially you get Quicken Spell without the 4 level bump to the spell, at the cost of a random magical effect, as many times a day as I want. Of the 8 effects listed, only 4 seem particularly harmful, and for the cost of the rod the level of spellcaster they're not likely to be much more than an inconvenience, especially if the owner knows the rod's powers and has prepared for them. I did like #8, it's a nice visual. Overall, it's insanely powerful for its price.
Mechanics: The writing on this is really rough for what is supposed to be a finished entry. It's 15 words over the 300 word maximum. (That in itself is a disqualification.) There's no sign of the proper format for the item entry. Simple spelling errors that could have been caught with a spell check. The cost is listed, but the price is not. None of the prerequisites to craft the rod are given. I'm told I can use the rod of wonder effects or wild surge tables for the rod's "random magic flash," but then I'm given an entirely different table at the same time. Which is it? Some of the effects themselves are without explanation, or too much explanation. What are the effects of a Huge muffin falling on someone? What difference does the fur color of the squirrel matter? What's the DC of the Knowledge (religion) check to recognize Eris? What if Eris isn't a goddess in my campaign world?
Overall impression: There's creativity here, but it lacks control, precision, and direction. I'd be hard pressed to upvote this against another item that was better formatted and had its powers properly scaled and balanced.
Goth Guru |
Thanks. Even for a homebrew item I'm going to reduce the word count. While a good PC Drow will probably have black fur, that is possibly better left inferred. I could say the muffin acts as a tangle foot bag and does 2D6 sub-dual. I'm not sure what Microsoft Word didn't catch.
Is this any better?

Bug eye pendant. The item does look like a bugs eye, a dome shape with 30 tiny mirrors on the front. The back has a command word in a language a fighter could conceivably know. When the wearer says the command word he or she gains 1-6 mirror images for ten rounds. When an image gets hit and vanishes, a tiny mirror shatters. The cord it's on can be worthless or a magic item in it's own right. When the effect times out, the remaining images vanish but no more mirrors shatter. It can be reactivated once it times out.
Cost: Working on it.
Uses: The bug eye pendant would be good for low level vampires that the GM wants to last for more than 1 round. It would be very good for solo games.

Ranger leash
This leash is made for humans and humanoids. It drains 1D6 from the wearer and transfers them to the leash holder. It's useful when you have to talk to a witch and you have a Witch Burner in the party. Some perverse Inquisitors will own one and put it on themselves to heighten the intimidate for an interrogation. Many races, especially goblins, view it as a curse item.

An item that I had introduced for a player who had followed Gorum with a side of corrupted Pharasma. (His whole thing was whenever he had caused death, he had to eventually spend time engaging in the act of causing life)
The (cursed) amulet of fertility.
1) If both parties are fertitle, the amulet % change of conception increases to the point of being near-certain but has a companion % of making the wearer permanently infertile.
2) If a wearer is infertile, increases % change of conception but risks death of the wearer. If participant is infertile, causes extra risk to make the wearer infertile.
3) If conception is normally not possible (at all), such as both infertile, incompatbile creature type, etc - it becomes possible but automatically kills the wearer if conception is achieved. (If the wearer is female, it kills the wearer shortly after birth)
The idea behind it was that a cleric of Pharasma was the victim of a violent assault some time in the past, and decided that the amulet would be a balancing force against such acts, as repeated use would guarantee new life coming in to the word, and likely cause compensatory death of the frequent user of the amulet.

Kaijunator – Ancient siege engines created by some long lost empire. These weapons were so named because they were believed to have been used to slay colossal beasts such as the Kaiju and Behemoths. Whether or not they were actually built for that purpose is unknown, but stories of their effective use in warding off Kaiju have made them priceless to settlements under threat of such hazards. The method of producing these enormous engines has been lost to history, but the few that have been unearthed are found to be still functional. If used strategically, a Kaijunator can be the difference between life and death in an encounter with a Kaiju. Various models have been discovered and categorized by the Pathfinder Society. All Kaijunators have the unique Kaiju Bane and deal Epic Damage against Colossal beasts.
Type I – Spiral Tusk
Artifact Siege Engine Epic Damage

The Crystal Tablet
This 1 foot radius crystal disk fits in a special metal reinforced side bag. There is an on off button on the right side, a slot for coins on the left, and a metal line across the front of it dividing the top from bottom screen. When on, the bottom shows the controls on a touch screen, while the top shows the site(called a channel) selected. The bottom usually shows a zoom control, volume control, keyboard for typing, a directional control that works like a trackball, and other controls will appear as needed. At 100 gold a credit, and usually a credit for every channel selected, it's very expensive. There are plans for unlimited use, about 5,000 GP a month.
Lots of reading small print with an eye of minute seeing will tell you this is all run from actual clouds where Cloud Giants live and work. You can use the back of the tablet as a camera recording 2D action and sound. The Cloud Giants can actually activate the camera function.
I may have to start a special topic with all the channels.
