Hi,

I am a 3d art teacher and game artist. I have been getting right into Pathfinder lately, I think Im obsessed.

here are some of my drawings that are currently in progress. I would love feedback from other people that are addicted to pathfinder :D

Female Dwarf Swashbuckler

Female Paladin with White lion familiar

I love that the dwarf lady is not all sexy or muscled up but looks a little fat in the neck. The feet/boots are off somehow though.

The paladin looks great but the forhead is a little too smooth somehow and the hairline there too. The helmet looks a bit too small/narrow to fit over her head.

Man, I wish I was that good... So many personal characters I want to draw and that always look like akward homonculi...

Only note I have is the same as Thaneal on the paladin: the helmet looks too small to fit over her head. Otherwise, looks great.

Thanks for the feedback. The boots are still awork in progress and I definitely see your point about the helmet.I will keep posting my progress.

Love the dwarf!

Feedback? They look stunning. Well done. If you want criticism though, the dwarf reminds me too much of Fiona from Shrek, and other girl's face looks too streamlined. It could use a little more detail that suggests the shape of a skull, such as cheekbones and other features.

Dotting for now the links won't open on my work computer.

love it!

for the dwarf swashbuckler make the left limbs darker than the body they are behind; you've established the light is hitting her right shoulder, so the left side of her body should be in shadow

Nice helmet.

"I claim planet X in the name of Mars!"

Haha. It is similar i guess :p

I'm using the Paladin somehow. I love it.

You are welcome to use it. I am finishing it up now. I will let you know when its done.

Paladin update

I am basically done with this one.

Thanks heaps for the critiques and feel free to suggest some characters for me to do. Im thinking of doing my own interpretation of one the iconics and maybe a monster or 2.

Liberty's Edge

Dwarf Swashbuckler FTW !!!

Awesome Paladin too.

Do you plan on drawing a male character ? Could be interesting to see if your art suffers for it ;-)

Yep. I was definitely going to do a male after the Swashbuckler.

Actually, here is my site. Polyhammer.com

There are males there :D

Sovereign Court

Wonderful stuff. Armor and textures are absolutely stunning.

It looks better than anything I could make, although the dwarf could use some color on her skin, she looks slightly vampirish as is.

The images that I posted originally were works in progress.

I start by creating the image in Gray scale, then I add colour.

Here is an updated version of the dwarf, she is now multiclassing as a Magus :P

Dwarf Magus

I decided to paint my depiction of the Gremlin Jinkin.

I am trying to stay loose with this one and let the brush strokes be clearly visible.

Gremlin Jinkin

Wonderful stuff!

This is something I created a few weeks ago and forgot about. Its the first character I ever rolled for Pathfinder.

Ranger

Very nicely done.

That's some nice art, but all I can think of when I see that Paladin is Jazz Fenton.

Good work. You are a great talent. Do you work in electronic media, or do you use pencils and pens, maybe both?

Thanks for the kind words and critiques everyone :D

I had to google Jazz Fenton to understand the reference. She does look fairly similar. The creators of that cartoon chose the same complimentary colour scheme. Smart people :P

I used Photoshop to create these images.

In art school I used paints and pencils but as a game artist I prefer digital media now.

I bet the paladin never rides amongst low branches with that helmet! :D

This is my latest piece. Im still working on it.

Its more of a full scene than a single character. Let me know what you think.

If you have any goot ideas I will work them into it.

Failed Charisma check

just my two cents, but unless you want that barbarian to appear less than "manly"* maybe he can be holding the cup with a firm grip around the cup instead of daintily holding the handle.

*not that there's anything wrong with that

That was my intention. He is a strange one

I like it.

He isn't appropriate for polite society. Where is his pinky finger? Why isn't it raised?

Its funny you say that. I was originally going to raise it... but didnt. I will do a variation with pinky and a manly one

Fantastic work Spaz! You are pack in a lot of personality into those characters.

Love the bugbear wrap.

Here is another.

Its still being worked on.

I cant stop! I need help.

I agree.

... but ...
~psst~ It's an Owlbear wrap not a Bugbear.

Okay, put down the e-brush and e-mail Paizo today because your artwork could grace the pages of next year's products.

Paizo or any number of 3PPs would benefit from your work! Put on your freelance hat and go go go!

Yeah time to make a portfolio and start sending it around. You have a unique look and a few features that are appreciated: Ladies in sensible armor, people who are not conventional body types, and faces that are not stereotypical flawless fantasy art types. I love the halfling lady's face in the 'failed charisma check' one -- very communicative of the idea, 'Oh great who's this a*#@~%&?'

Thanks so much for the encouragement everyone.

I think I will give Paizo a shot. It would be so awesome to have some of my art in their books :D

Time to tweak my portfolio

You're awesome and your art is also awesome. Great work!

Thanks Aleron.

I am going to constantly update all of the images above. Paizo really want to see what the artist can do with an iconic.

What do you think about this one?

Lem fascinating a goblin

That made me laugh right out loud! Good job!

I looked through your site but didn't see anything about commissions. Do you do commission work?

Excellent :D

At the moment I'm working full time as a teacher so I'm pretty busy. I have been lucky to get the time to do these images.

I will have lots of spare time in a few weeks though as its Christmas holidays soon. Send me a pm if your after a commission and we can work something out.

I echo calls for you to create a portfolio and work for commission.

I like the Paladin.

The barbarian with the owlbear stole needs a mug/flagon/stein not a teacup unless that's why he failed the roll. ;p

I am uninterested in Golaria-fan work, though it shows your abilities.

Really loving all the art I'm seeing. You have a great style and hope you post some more. Definitely echoing what others have said about the portfolio and commission info.

Ok here is some more work in progress. I have been working on landscapes and full scenes.

Landscape 1

Dragon

The center mountain makes me think of "the Old Man in the Mountain".

Looks more like The Thinker to me.

Meanwhile the dragon looks more like a large serpent than a dragon at this stage, but that's the lack of a visible midsection talking.
