High Damage Character

Advice

Starting Emerald Spire, withing PFS, and looking to form my character for this adventure. I have seen what everyone else is playing, and damage seems a bit lacking. I want to make a shameless damage machine, and was wondering if I could get some thoughts on the best way to go about this. Thanks!

Toothy half-orc bloodrager is a good one. Bite/claw/claw at level 1.

Bloodrager is certainly at the top of the list.

Sovereign Court

Barbarian with a two handed weapon, preferably 18-20 crit range and power attack is the easiest way to do this.

Haven't read PFS in awhile so not sure, if all the archery feats are available...archer fighters (no need for the archer archetype) are still very strong.

Now if you want to do something fancy...there are many guides out there for that.

Sczarni

Barbarian, Paladin, Magus and Alchemist are in the top tiers for damage.

I'd love to do something fancy, do you know of any of these guides off hand?

Sovereign Court

Zenith's pathfinder guide page

Should be noted some of the guides haven't been updated with the new options that appears in the ACG or recent releases. Divine Protection for any oracle builds is worth mentioning, so you don't need to do the Oradin (oracle+Paladin) to get divine grace. Animal Soul is a strong new feat for druids as well.

This is for PFS, so Divine Protection is right out.

Sovereign Court

ah bummer, noticed they don't allow animal soul as well.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

A standard Barbarian with a two handed weapon will deliver the best per hit performance at level 1, as the rage makes them able to deliver the biggest blow. I've found this pretty useful for DR bypass and single target elimination. You really only need power attack and raging vitality. You can flavor the barbarian however you want with DR or more natural attacks.

A toothy anything barbarian can bite claw claw at level 2 with lesser beast totem.

Why would a barbarian hit harder than a bloodrager?

You should also check out the Guide to the Builds

In terms of pure damage, a few winners are:

Mad Bomber (Alchemist)
Natural Killer (Ranger)
Admixture Blaster (Wizard)

Boring but still good - two handed weapon fighter. Kills 99% of all bad guys.... dead. Just watch the will save.

Human Synthesist Summoner with quadruped, claws + bite + pounce evolutions. You will start soft, but get exponentially more beefy as you level. Around the middle of the spire you'll start coming into some truly ferocious possibilities.

Blasters are fun. I believe Broken Zenith posted a good one. Gunslingers and alchemists are also stellar damage dealers.

Unfortunately, a Synthesis Summoner is not PFS legal.

A well built hunter or Sacred Huntmaster Inquisitor has a lot of potential. A constant +4 to hit and +1d6 on every melee attack you and your pet make from pack flanking, outflank, and precise strike is outstanding. And then when you get into paired opportunists and improved feint partner you get 6+ attacks of opportunity per round.

How incredibly saddening
