Holding the Charge from a Touch spell and...

Rules Questions

If I am holding the charge, does the charge dissipate if I:
Activate a spell-like ability (that does not require me to touch something or someone, assume this for all of my questions)?
Activate a supernatural ability?
Use an extraordinary ability?
Attack with a thrown weapon I was already holding?
Attack with a melee weapon I was already holding?
Use a wand/staff/rod I was already holding?
Use a scroll I was already holding?
Activate a power from a ring I was wearing?
Fire a loaded crossbow with both hands (assuming I had been holding it in one hand prior)?

Shadow Lodge

Spell-like abilities function like spells and dissipate a charge.

Supernatural and extraordinary abilities are OK.

I think using items you are already holding or wearing is OK, except for using a scroll which is "basically like casting a spell" and will dissipate a charge.

Changing your grip on a crossbow or other two-handed weapon is not OK since you're establishing a new touch ("touching anything or anyone").

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Make sure you're naked and have some way to float above the ground permanently.

Hope no insects or dust motes touch you as well.

It's the only way to hold a charge by RAW.

Shadow Lodge

You're allowed to wear gloves at least

The game generally holds that "things touching you" =/= "you touching things" as odd as that is from a physics POV.

Shhhh go with it I want to spawn more "Crazy hobo wizards constantly floating on a magic disk".
