The Advanced Class Guide adds the Eldritch Scion archetype for Magus. This archetype allows the Magus to cast spells like a Sorcerer. I have two questions about this archetype:
1. Does casting a spell with metamagic increase the casting time for this archetype like it does for Sorcerers? Does this impact the use of metamagic spells with Spell Combat? For instance, if I apply a metamagic feat to Shocking Grasp can I not use this with Spell Combat?
2. Spell Recall is replaced by the Bloodline special. Improved Spell Recall isn't replaced so that would mean they learn Spell Recall at level 11. Spell Recall gives the Magus the ability to recall a prepared spell that was cast. How does this work if an Eldritch Scion doesn't prepare spells?

So while the increased casting time from metamagic definitely adds when casting without spell combat, I think it works off the spell unmodified by metamagic.
can also cast any spell from the magus spell list with a casting time of 1 standard action (any attack roll made as part of this spell also takes this penalty).
In fact, using mmetamagic with Spell Combat in general is super vague, but seems to work seeing how standard it is. RAW and RAI, I'd say it works.

I think for some reason I was reading that as the spell is on the magus spell list with a casting time of 1 standard action (in the magus spell list, not as it is casting). I'm not sure why I read it this way, but it seems silly looking back.
If it means anything, I did post that this was an error in the potential error list. Then I reread Spell Combat and came to this bizarre conclusion.
Might fly with some GMs.
Also I've been up playing Path of Exile all night and it's 8 am, so it may be totally obvious that it doesn't work this way and I'm too sleep deprived to tell.
