Golem creation questions

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I am seriously interested in golem creation, but I've got a lot of questions about this topic.

1. Most golems require both divine and arcane spells. For instance Clockwork Golem (Bestiary 2, p. 137) requires Animate Objects (bard/cleric 6) and Telekinesis (sorcerer/wizard 5). How such golems are supposed to be created? Do they require the cooperative efforts of several characters, or are there some other ways to create such golems?
2. If the golem is created by the two chars with Cooperative Crafting, do they both need to qualify the required caster level or one is enough? Logically, one should be enough, especially if the golem is supposed to be created by a single person somehow: the level should be needed for "activating" the golem.
3. Some golems have strange requirements. For instance, Flesh Golem (Bestiary 1, p.160) has CR7 and requires caster level 8th, but it also requires Limited Wish (sor/wiz 7), which itself requires 11th level minimum. Was there any errata on this?
4. Can the Arcane Builder discovery (Ultimate Magic, p. 86) be applied to golem creation? The text says about "magical items", but aren't golems the magical items too? :)

1. Each missing spell from the creator or other source increases crafting DC by 5.
2. Not meeting caster level requirement adds 5 to the crafting DC. With cooperative crafting the "crafter" is still the same, the other is assisting, I guess.
3. 1. and 2. should cover that. You can also cast it from scrolls or an assistant. Errata isn't needed.
4. It applies to items covered by a crafting feat, which includes craft construct.

Thanks for your reply!

1. Yes, having the chance of creating the golem with missing spells is good, but actually the Clockwork Golem needs two sor/wiz spells (Grease and Telekinesis) and two cleric spells (Animate Objects and Blade Barrier), so a single character isn't likely to create it alone anyway with DC + 10. So I guess, the golem creation is intended to be performed by at least two characters.
Some golems can be created by a single character, though - a Cleric can create a Clay Golem alone.

3. If I use an assistant, does he need to have Craft Construct feat as well? I guess he does, since it isn't the usual spell casting, it's integrating the spell into the golem.

DC+10 is trivial. A clockwork golem would be DC 30, assuming caster level 15, 15 ranks +3 trained +6 INT = 24, take 10= 34 (skill focus gives another +6 at that level)

He doesn't need to have craft construct to help fulfil spell requirements for crafting, but he must have it when using cooperative crafting.

It's not clear whether this can apply to constructs, since the Craft Construct feat (unlike every other crafting feat) stipulates that you must meet the prerequisites for any construct you wish to craft. I'm not certain whether this is an oversight on the part of the writers or an intentional restriction on crafting constructs.

Regardless, the creator must meet all item creation feats and minimum caster level requirements.

From the Pathfinder SRD. Spells can be ignored, just not feats or caster level.

Craft staff also says "whose prerequisites you meet." I think it's standard notation.

@necromancer: I've read that section of UM more than once and didn't notice that until now...

I've been going by this FAQ and allowed the "must be at least" requirements to be ignored.

The CL of the item is not a requirement
If the requirements line lists something like "at least 5th level caster", that is a requirement.
