Summoner / Witch and her... Eidolon?

Advice

I have yet to have a player run a Witch.
I have yet to have a player run a Summoner.

Now I have one who wants to play a hybrid Summoner/Witch. She doesn't want to hassle with controlling both a Eidolon and a Familiar, and instead wants to combine them... I guess by just adding the Familiar abilities to the Eidolon? Communing with the Eidolon for her Witch spells?

I'm stuck wether or not I should allow it. I don't see why it's not an issue to juggle 2 spell lists, but a familiar is suddenly a hassle. Are there any rules for something like this? The idea has my imagination piqued, but down the road I'm sure I'm not seeing the complications...

Perhaps first we shoud determine what you mean by a hybrid summoner/witch. You mean a multiclass character (i.e. for example a level 6 character with 3 levels witch and 3 levels summoner), a gestalt (i.e. take all the spells, class features and class skills and the best respective of each save, BAB and hit dice of each) or a homebrew class that is a cross between summoner and witch?

Agreed. If it's gestalt, I would probably allow her to use the eidolon as a familiar but not give it the "Deliver Touch Spells" ability. If the player is asking for a new homebrew class, I can give you some tips on how to combine them in an effective and non-annoying way. For a multiclass character, I probably woiuldn't allow a combined familiar/eidolon...

You could allow the Eidolon to form over the familiar like a synthesist, but joined to the familiar.

EDIT: Also, flagged to be moved to homebrew/house rules, as this is not allowed under the rules.

Something to look out for is that a major weakness of a witch is losing her familiar, but an eidolon is basically immortal. Of course, a 'killed' eidolon cannot return for 24 hours, so I guess the witch would be locked out of memorizing new spells during that time. I'm not sure if that is self balancing.

The only class that legally allows a combination of a familiar with something else is a specific type of shaman from the ACG at lvl 20 if i recall where the familiar also gains the benefits of an animal companion using the shaman's level as her effective druid level.

Here is the actual ability of it.

Companion Animal (Su): The shaman’s spirit animal
takes the form of an animal companion (Core Rulebook
51) of her choice, using her shaman level as her effective
druid level. It retains all the special abilities and the
Intelligence score of the spirit animal, but also has the
statistics and abilities of an animal companion. If the
companion animal is dismissed, lost, or dies, it can be
replaced in the same way as a normal spirit animal.
