My party just found themselves in the middle of a devil/demon warsite
The demons are rather easy... They ate stronger than their devil counterparts, but fight alone...
The devil setup is a bit harder to figure out... At this war site a full battalion is present, and being devil's structures needs to be set in stone. So...
How would you build a devil battalion?

If your boss is a Pit Fiend plus class levels, I assume the party is at or near level 20. Anyways, just build it like you would a normal army, using the various devils to do the jobs they're specialized in anyways. Add class levels as needed to challenge the party.
- Imps everywhere, acting as sentries and performing menial tasks in the camp.
- Bearded Devils act as the rank-and-file infantry. They fight in formations, using their signature glaives as pikes.
- Erinyes act as airborne scouts and fast attack. The Pit Fiend in command holds the bulk of them in reserve, deploying them wherever they're needed most.
- Ice Devils act as the Pit Fiend's advisors (possibly his lieutenants), and provide magical support on the front lines.
- Bone Devils act as infiltrators, intelligence gatherers, and assassins, taking full advantage of passive Fly and at-will Invisibility and Greater Teleport.
- Lemures act as cannon fodder, either attempting to overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers, or forming themselves into barricades like macabre sandbags.

I like that. Maybe barbed devils as sergeants/lieutenants, so if you run into a squad of bearded devils, there will be one barbed with them.

Battalion seems understrength for a Pit Fiend, I would think something more akin to a division, but maybe they're more a personal guard or something...
Anyhoos, here's my thought:
11 squad (10 devils, +1 squad leader devil, 75% hp rather than 50%)
23 platoon (2 squads, +1 platoon leader, max hp devil)
116 company (5 platoons, company leader)
590 Battalion (5 platoons, Battalion CO, 2/C, Adjutant, 4 Bodyguards, Quartermaster, Comm. Officer, Int. Officer)
Bodyguards are paired Erinyes / Unilla with always one of each on duty.

The list I gave is missing Archers or similar ranged units, since I couldn't find any in my skim of the Devils section. It occurred to me that a Devil army might actually favor massed firepower above all, using its melee troops purely to defend its ranged units from melee attackers.
After all Lawful Good cares about honor, and Chaotic Evil craves violence, but Lawful Evil cares only for effectiveness and cold efficiency.
