My question to the Devs:
What will be the first system in Alpha that allows for PvP without reputation loss?
Obviously my opinion is that a system that is not simply establishing "arraigned" PvP matches, would be better.
Proto-Outposts would add that element of risk to gathering. These could be like "chaos chests" that flag all in the area as "hostile", but also contain small rewards for opening them.

Saiph, the thread doesn't stand as well on it's own as some do. It grew out of a question about whether it was possible to test PvP without rep loss in the Alpha. If you miss that, it all goes down hill. With that context, though it's annoying, it mostly makes sense.
Some other very important context: Xeen/Bluddwolf and Nihimon don't get along very well.

I am very disappointed, both in the decision to remove my post, and in the person or persons who reported in the first place. It was a generic comment that well represented the positions of two sides. I said nothing about anyone being right or wrong, and made no indications or comparisons of anyone to anyone else and it did not engender any discussion of the validity of any of those positions, either real world or on these boards. This is a deplorable response.

It wasn't a discussion about those issues, it was a comparison of something happening here, every single day ad nauseum to an excellent example of another enormously problematic issue that has no real right or wrong side and yet the two sides won't let it go and take every conceivable opportunity to imagine that what was said is about them and must be vigorously defended against.

I have found it is good practice to address a comment meant for a specific person, to that specific person. Usually by including their quote.
When I make a general statement, non addressed to a specific person, I accept the possibility that anyone may respond to it.

Okay, let's move on to a less contentious topic: Gun rights!
I am in favor of guns being in PFO, but they should be heavily regulated so only Freevale and other suitably liberated settlements can get ahold of them.
Wait, this thread had a topic? Are you sure? Because...oh, riiiiight, it's all coming back to me.
So! Nihimon! Why do you want to make Alpha FFA?

The Seventh Veil actually has a darker side. They're plotting to protect folks from unwanted PvP: With his insidious new device, Nihimon, King of Phaeros, will brainwash everyone who joins into wanting to kill other players! They'll have an unstoppable army before Turkey Day!
<cackles>
Ye a funny 'lil elfie. Yup, ye is. Big teeth for an elfie though, and such a wee thing ye is. Hmmph...

so saying it was not addressed to you somehow objects to you responding to it?
