Then I fell asleep on the sofa until about 0130.
This morning was a biscuit and coffee morning. It was awesome!
In fact, everything is awesome! Everything is cool when you're part of the team!
And my bird feeder has seen a metric crapton of activity this morning.
Bit O' trivia - apparently, one of the earlier scripts for Aliens had Ripley and Newt come across a cocooned Burke. He tells them he can feel the chest burster moving around inside him, and begs them to help him. Ripley gives him a grenade and walks away.
I can't believe I fell asleep watching Pitch Black. WTF is wrong with me?!?
At this point, my wife would hand me a list.
Both kids woke up early today. Little turds.
The boy's latest gripe is about shadows. Daddy tries to explain the shadows won't bother him if he doesn't bother them. The boy does not listen.
I think today I shall begin planning the shelf I want to build in my garage.
I mean planning as in writing things down, making some sketches. I've already got a good bit of it planned out in my brain.
Ok, let's not watch the same episode of Curious George three times in a row.

Damn! What a sucktastic day.
At least there was yummy good dinner. Made up for a distinct lack of lunch.
Now it's time to force the boy to sleep.
Another day, another (nearly) all day meeting.
But at least the kidlets slept through the night.
Damnit! I hit the wrong button and restored Microsoft Lync to my computer. Time to do an uninstall. Again!
I don't like that program. It opens automatically every morning. To close it, however, you've got to open up the task manager and end it. Annoying.
Mrgh. Time to go do stuff.

Ah yes. That's an oldie, but a goodie. I think the first time I saw it the video was excerpts from an MMORPG.
Feeling very blarg this morning.
The wife bought the boy some Curious George books. They are now, according to him, his "favorite books".
One of the boy's favorite phrases, when he's telling you something he'll follow it up with "You know that?".
Yesterday wasn't too bad. Only one, very brief meeting. But it was busy - spent most of the day playing catch up from the previous two day's backlog.
Stoopid multi-day meetings.

Today there will be another (possibly contentious) meeting. Let's hear it for welding procedures!

Memories light the corners of my mind.
Misty, water-colored memories,
Of the way we were.
Ze coffee! She is helping!
All right. Almost time for another cup of coffee, then data sheets and P&IDs.
*blink*
What's cookin' in ramblin' land??
*sniff*
What's that burning smell?
Gaah! My leg's in fire!
Watched The Mask of Zorro last night, with Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas. Also a much younger and thoroughly hot Catherine Zeta Jones. Mmmmm.....
I had seen it would be coming on late the night before and set the DVR to pick it up. I had forgotten what an awesome movie that was.
Last night, while putting the boy to bed. I asked if he wanted me to turn off his lamp. He said "no". Followed it up with his reason being that he would do it because he was "the king".
Ahhhh....coffee. How you make my mornings less.....psychotic.
My ideal happy place:
A comfy chair, good light, comfortable temperature. Reading material. Quiet, but not too quiet. Some pretzels to snack on, and a beer (or five) to drink.
Barring that, I'll settle for sleeping wife and kids, a bag of beef jerky, and a decent movie on TV.
Maybe call it my "not technically happy, but mildly content place".
Thank the f%%*ing gods it's here.
Ah well, I guess I should get to doing....something.
Ah Friday! You tease me with your promise of the weekend, yet shatter my hopes with the dread Saturday ahead....
Shattered on the cold, hard rocks of reality?
Saturday overtime is nice, but I miss my chore day

Finally watched John Carter of Mars last night. Good flick. Not quite how I remember the book. Very entertaining nonetheless.
Coffee and bacon. Is there a better way to start a Saturday?
Think I'm gonna try and make it over to Best Buy this weekend. I've got a $25 gift card and $25 reward zone certificate. Time to expand my bluray collection.
Maybe. Not quite sure. But what else would I spend it on?!?
First off, I think it's time for a shower. Then maybe try and find the list I made when I got rid of all my DVDs. It shows which ones are available in bluray, and has some priorities for purchase.
