Maybe I’m being visited by a vampire at night.
Or maybe it’s that weird little gremlin/goblin thing from Cat’s Eye - that old Stephen King Anthology movie. The last part with young Drew Barrymore.
Or maybe I’m just getting old.
So far it’s not too bad, though.
Knocks on wood.
Except for a coworker. He had ants infesting his cubicle.
And since he’s on the other side of the wall from me, I’m gonna feel creepy crawly all day.
Huzzah! Participated in another Eagle Board of Review last night. I’m happy to say the young man came through it with near flying colors and has earned his Eagle Rank.
The only downside was I didn’t get home until 8:30 pm. So I didn’t have time to play Diablo 4.
The young man’s mother was one of my daughter’s teachers last school year, so my daughter was happy to know I’d seen her.
No ants this morning. At least not that has been discovered. Huzzah again!
Yesterday wasn’t too bad.
This morning, however, kind of sucked balls.
At least it’s not too hot.
Oh, wait…..
It’s July in Texas. Of course it’s hot.
My brother is more than likely going to the BSA headquarters here in Houston. So it looks like he’ll be able to bring the paperwork for these two Eagle Scouts for me.
Huzzah!
It’s actually kind of a slow week at work. Something I don’t particularly like. If only because I hate asking my supervisor for something to do.
Luckily, I’m covered at least through today.
Back in the office after work from home day. I prefer being in the office. It’s nice being around other adults again.
Well, another Friday. And it’s looking to be a busy one. My supervisor passed something along to me late yesterday that will be due by the end of today.
Luckily, I took a look at the stuff he originally sent me and I don’t think it will be as bad as he did.
It looks like they already have a BOM. So I might just need to put that in a different format.
And I’m low on my own coffee here at work.
They have k-cups here, but I’m not overly fond of any of the stuff they offer.
Got a busy Saturday ahead of me. I hope my body cooperates.
At least it’s nice and cool this morning. The heat will come later.
And toast. Whole wheat toast.
Yesterday, my boy’s scout troop had a small get together - a video game social. Not a lot of scouts, but they all had fun.
Some of the older scouts brought a PS5, and they were playing Mortal Kombat 11 (I think). That game’s come a long way. Awesome graphics. Really showcased the brutality. And it had some cool playable characters (other than the usual): Rambo, Robocop, Terminator, Joker. To name a few.
And today the boy and I have to get out front and clean an old oil spot off my driveway. Got a nasty gram from the Karens (aka our HOA).
To be honest, it’s something I’ve been wanting to get done. It’s just that with everything else going on, I kept forgetting.
Incidentally, the boy’s going to do most of the work. I’m going to supervise.
My daughter got into watching Avatar: The Last Airbender awhile back. I didn’t watch all of it, because she mostly watched while I was at work. What I did watch was pretty solid.
So now she’s watching The Legend of Korra (after I reviewed it to make sure it was appropriate). Again, pretty solid. Although I think I the first series was far superior, with a more cohesive and long running story.
Overall, the shows are, as previously stated, pretty solid. A creative and well-designed mythology. Good stories, with compelling themes. Excellent animation. Some great characters.
Ugh! What a horrid morning.
Stoopid company training.

Saw an article today that talked about archeologists discovering what they think is evidence of use of coal pushed back about a thousand years earlier than previously thought. So going all the way back over 3000 years.
I like such stories. Kind of like the recent stuff about Roman concrete, and the secret ingredients that made it long-lasting and highly durable. It’s cool to see how far back some advancements go.
It’s Work From Home Wednesday!!!
Huzzah!
Soon we’re going to have to start waking the kids up early on purpose. We’ve got to get them back into school mode.
My daughter will not be happy about it. Like her mother, she’s not a morning person. And also kind of lazy.
A somewhat productive day of work, despite this being a relatively slow week. And despite it being a work from home day, when I have more distractions than usual.
Huzzah! At least one of the bosses is out for the next two weeks. Nothing bad, just a vacation.
And it’s less than a week until school starts.
Have I mentioned how much I hate when my supervisor wants me to use software in a way in wasn’t specifically designed to be used.
All I know is I’m going to be so ready to slaughter digital monsters and such later tonight. I don’t care if it’s burning then with magic, clawing them with shapeshifted paws, or beating them with a two handed hammer.
Definitely a busy Saturday.
I couldn’t get back to sleep after taking my medicine this morning, so I jumped on Diablo 4 for a bit. Then it was shower and shave, and head over to the grocery store and cleaners.
After that it was comic book store.
Now we’re home for lunch.
Later today, we’ll take the boy to get his first cell phone.
Tomorrow, we might also take the boy to get some new clothes for school. And he needs his hairs cut.
