"Clothing" is actually an armor type, typically used by Wizards.

And yes, you can strip down to your skivvies.

Please. We don't want a repeat of Sausage Lake from Mortal Online.

That was scarring.

We'll probably have "naked" be something more substantial than underwear before too long.

But.. what about characters that don't have "Clothing Armor Proficiency"? Should they queue up next to those who lack "Shield Weapon Proficiency"?

Can we get wizards some trousers while we're at it? Robes get terribly drafty with all this ice magic I'm throwing around.

(Seriously, though, I get the whole wizard's robes thing, but... pants too, please. =P )

We only know this because we were stacking wizards on top of Goat Mountain.

"Don't look up."

Access to skills is based on achievements, though. So have "armor use X" require an achievement relating to fighting while wearing armor. And leveling to Y requires that skill. That makes naked fighting self-limiting.

What is interesting to me is that repairing is apparently going to cost a similar amount to replacing.

Assuming damaged gear is still 100% effective (I am not sure of this) it would seem to make the following a viable tactic.

1. Thread valuable gear but over time as it takes damage do not bother repairing it.
2. Eventually when highly potent but damaged gear is close to worthless put it to one side.
3. Then whenever you are likely to be involved in PvP just thread a few really good items and also carry/wear a stack of powerful but highly damaged gear unthreaded.

You then have a buffed up character without much risk. If you lose the un-threaded gear replacing it will only cost about the same as repairing it would have anyway. Also the guy looting your corpse gets almost nothing of value.

It would not make sense for it to not lose effectiveness. If it was just as good at 1% as it was at 100% and they never break there is no reason to ever repair an item.

My gear is the 99%. :P
