Q is boring. You look down from the forest onto croplands and then go, "Wait a minute! I have to go through that pass WAY over there in order to get to my fields everyday? Then walk back home the same way every night? Not happening!"
Bunibuni likes heights, which is strange for a dwarf but true. He likes Highlands. He likes Mountains. He even likes Forests as long as they are on the highlands and mountains, which is the only reason [plus cookies] he hangs out with all these elves. He just likes looking down at everyone. :-)
So about this time tomorrow, Bunibuni will find out how many other settlements he will be looking over!

Only one? Can two fine folks step forward before midnight and join Kabal?
Many advantages to joining Kabal.
1. They know what they are doing.
2. They are the good guys, though not "stick up your butt good".
3. They have cookies and ale
4. They are going to get a really great hex and you will be going "Man! I wish I was with them! I could be doing A, B and C if I was, instead of wimpy ole D that I'm doing in the hex we got stuck with." or "We didn't get a settlement at all! Should of joined them before the Tower Wars started."
5. The Evil Empire doesn't frighten them a bit. They already have plans to make sure the Empire looks elsewhere for their ill-gotten gain.
6. They have fun! They don't get upset if someone screws up a pull or anything like that.
7. They come from all walks of life. Older. Young. Married. Single. Kids. Military or ex-military backgrounds. Professionals. College Kids. And as far as I can tell, not a single one of them is wanted by the law.
8. We are already planning future settlements for nation building.
9. They like magic and will support it.
10. Can't think of a 10th reason at the moment but it will come to me eventually.

Mystery group "Kabal" has suddenly leapt onto the leaderboard with 8 people.
With the presence of Kabal, moving into 14th place (so far) from non-existence a week ago, you'll not be proved wrong, Virgil.
Kabal continues their relentless march across the leaderboard.

They will be making a company announcement sometime today.Hardin Steele wrote:That'll be the same bunch...Black_Arrow was with Hand of Abraxas, while Hope's End's most-visible representative has been Duffy. It's completely possible, of course, that Hand of Abraxas's fall in votes was the harbinger for the re-creation of Hope's End.
Hand of Abraxas has disappeared, and the only guild to make any real gain this week (other than the Germans, which we know why) has been Kabal.
So my guess is that Kabal has finally unified its numbers and is not looking to settle into its final spot.
* On a side note, Aragon did not have its recruitment scout return in time for this round. Our number should have been 57. We will no longer be a member out to make those contacts.

I'm guessing our top ten spots for our final home is: AB, Z, Y, U. AD, S, V, N, M and L.
Clearly you want to be in the south and considering your NG alignment, you will probably look to join TSV / TEO alliance. AB as your first choice is not likely, you probably won't overtake KotC in the last week (need 25 votes needed, assuming they gain none).

Yeah displacing KotC at AB would have much further reaching disruptions to the whole SE as well, bumping neighbors probably all around the map, causing a domino effect I'm sure.
We don't have to wait for Lee to post where everyone is, only for those to post whom they displaced.

We got our 1300th settlement member this week, with still 221 voters not in settlements.
Kabal Pushed Tavernhold out of "F", triggering a cascade as Tavernhold took "C", so The Gauntlet took "D" moving the Guardians to "G"
Meanwhile, near the bottom of the board, Hope's End took over "S" pushing Open Road into "Q" and allowing Bastard Sons to return to the board in their old spot at "AC"
Iron Gauntlet stayed put in "T" again, but because (apparently) it isn't their first choice, they never get a bonus.

You and I, sir, have a very different understanding of haberdashery.

Intentionally displacing KotC from AB would be viewed as a very hostile act. I can't imagine anyone would do that without first talking to us (TEO, T7V, and KotC) unless they wanted us to view it as a hostile act.
That said, Kabal's sassy pants are Kabal's to do with as they please, but I'd be pretty shocked if they let their plans be known this clearly this far in advance. If I had to guess, I'd guess that Tavernhold will end up back in F (just like before), and that Kabal will end up somewhere interesting but not in the heart of the future Nation that will be built up around TEO & T7V... unless their goal has been to disrupt our plans all along.

This is a game, and nobody owns their spot. While I wouldn't expect someone who's allied to bump us, I hardly think it counts as a "very hostile" act
