That being said, if we finish week 10 in X, I will personally deliver a kick in the crotch to every single citizen of Aragon, and then hand them a map from their new hex to X and tell them the stew is on, if they can get to it.

I wanna be like you when I grow up.

You are speaking to it.

In other news: Ozem's Vigil has lost a soul to the "interwebz". Merchant Juggernaut Callambea has gained a vote, moving them to a position higher.

Goblin Squad Member

Bleh Callambea. It sounds like a soup or STD! ;)

Quit giving our votes away Bringslite, they already have so many of ours.

Actually if a group slowly filtered in votes they technically already had over the course of the land rush and used the slow "growth" to ping-pong about the map and cause chaos I might be annoyed, if I really cared at all.

Disclaimer: 99.999% of things said are meant in a lighthearted manner.

Noticed that the number of guilds have dropped a bit since Sunday. Think there was 149 of them on Sunday, now only 143. Did they all go to the few folks bigger than Kabal or join other smaller groups?

Goblin Squad Member

Green Mountain Militia and Elkhaven both folded in to Ozem's

Callambea's place on the leaderboard is just informational/vanity, since their spot is already ensured. Same also with The Seventh Veil and The Empyrean Order.

Size means nothing if there is no cohesion. For these three groups, they have been around for a while. Their core will likely remain for some time, even if their numbers rise and fall.

Others, such as ourselves (UNC) prefer to remain smaller, but that supports greater cohesion (based on my own experience).

Whether large or smaller (mid-sized), both can achieve great things or both can fail in epic fashion. Only cohesion or the lack of it contributes to that outcome.

Goblin Squad Member

The first major accomplishment of the final weekend: Talonguard becomes the first Land Rush 2 group to achieve 100 votes!

Goblin Squad Member

I'm still dreaming of an unexpected shake up at the end. I have doubts that there are people out there poised, so the smaller groups are going to have to pull off something amazing.

C'mon guys! LR2 shouldn't wind down with a whimper...

Goblin Squad Member

UP to 144 guilds now. Not sure who.

And Kabal is up to 56. Anyone getting nervous now? Anyone want to whimper? Anyone want to tell us why our current hex is better than taking over their hex in this final week? If you have a bunch of good reasons, Sunnfire might not move us to yours. :-)

Goblin Squad Member

Nervous?

Nah. Everybody on the inside already knows about your plan to take T, switch alignment to NE, declare yourselves as a Skinsaw Cult, and join Xeilias.

Shadow Lodge Goblin Squad Member

Guurzak, you'll lose credibility as a vicious Ork if you keep linking images from Hayate the Combat Butler...

Well it seems very clear to me that LR2 is well understood by the public and all of it's participants....

So, I just did the math....

Top 10 - 861
Top 33 - 1,339
All 144 - 1,572

There has actually been 52 new voters so far this week....so we are seeing a final push, also we have lost 5 guilds, so I guess consolidation.

- 55% of voters are concentrated in the top 10, which represent only 7% of all the guilds in the Landrush.
- 85% of voters will get a settlement, but they only represent 23% of the guilds in the Landrush.

Note that neither Aragon nor Freevale are members of The Empire of Xeilias.

In my eyes, actions taken and statements made by any member of the Northern Coalition, and especially the most outspoken, controversial and aggressive members, influence my perspective on the entire group.

Statements made by the leaders of Aragon are taken into consideration by neutral third parties (such as Forgeholm) when making decisions such as "Should we sell our goods in Callambea or not."

As far as i remember, free citizens of Freevale never talked down to you, your company or your settlement. We never called you griefers or implied you are, nor call you other names. We never said nor implied we plan on attacking/SaD'ing you.

I think i speak for most if not all free citizens of Freevale that we will judge people by their own actions, not hearsay.

I politely ask you for the same courtesy.

Odd that I will trust math blindly so that I don't have to do it!

Isn't choosing to align itself with Golgotha and Aragon an action that Freevale took?

Do you think there is any chance we can get this thread over a 1000 before Monday and the announced results?

Say something...pretty much anything...about Stand and Deliver. That often does the trick.

Easily, if Xeen shows up and gets pissed about something.

Is choosing to align itself with Golgotha and Aragon an action that Freevale took?

Is choosing to earn the Ire of Golgotha what Forgeholm is doing?

Does anyone else see the hypocrisy inherent in proposing to hold an entire settlement responsible for the statements of one member, in an attempt to stop that one member from holding a coalition responsible for statements of its individual members?

To be honest, before this series of posts by Gaskon, I forgot Forgeholm even existed. I guess obscurity finally got to him?

My standup routine in the "Be a Dwarf" thread just wasn't bringing me the attention I craved.

Speaking of which, Be a dwarf! Join Forgeholm! Aggravate the Evil Empire every day!

Is it hypocrisy? Or did you define the rules and then discover the other players had better tools for it.

Looks like something other than SAD has been found to get it to 1000.

Pretty sure its hypocrisy.

I'm happy having people judge me based on who I choose to make formal alliances with.
Its just you guys that seem to have a problem with someone suggesting that the actions of one member of an alliance influences the reputation of the entire alliance.

....WOW you Ninja edited your post fast... What threats did you receive via PM?

You are welcome to post any "threat" I made, if that is what you were implying?

I don't think I've ever PM'd you, not in the 20 months I've been around.

Oh thanks for clearing that up. Whew. It seems you were just Wrong.

There is a Non-Aggression Pact between NC members. Not a formal Alliance.

Bluddwolf wrote:

Yeah, I thought better of that line. Not sure if bringing PMs into the discussion is okay with messageboard etiquette.

For the record, I don't think Bluddwolf has ever sent me a PM.

However, Deacon Wulf of Golgotha did send one in response to me daring to mention the evil empire of Xeilias, and he essentially made the same threat as he has in this thread, to hold my entire settlement responsible for my individual statements.

Goblin Squad Member

Have you ever had the feeling you were dealing with someone who can't understand context

The Threat:
If you cannot separate entities, then why should we?

Goblin Squad Member

It is true that you are known by the company you keep.

"Company", in this context, has a continuum of meanings. Members of the same Chartered Company are closer "company" than members of the same settlement. Members of a settlement are closer company than members of a nation.

Considering two different settlements to be "company" which are not only not in the same nation, and not even in an alliance, but merely share a non-aggression pact, stretches the boundaries of "company" beyond what most reasonable observers would consider useful. But of course, de gustibus non est disputandem, so if you want to scorn mutually profitable trade with sincere and reliable merchants because of the words of an almost completely unrelated party, you're entitled to your opinions no matter how much unnecessary self-foot-shooting you commit in the process.

On da udder hand, us alreddy gruks dat dorfs isnt da smartest peepuls arownd. Nub like us brilyunt orcs wut is shinin' pillurz of lojic an' rashunalitee.

Seriously though, Aragon isn't part of us and doesn't speak for us. We have no unsavory designs on your caravans or your citizenry. (We may have unsavory designs for any corpses they leave lying around!) Chances are very good we can find something to trade that leaves us both better off.

And remember also that "if goods don't cross borders, armies will." That's not intended as a threat, just a reminder that peaceful trade encourages the positive relationships that can help prevent misunderstandings from becoming heated to violent levels.
