Michael Sayre Just posted this, confirming that the two new classes releasing with a playtest on the 31st will have 3 syllable names, and each name will have 3 vowels each. This is oddly specific, but also very vague. We also know one of them will be rare, and they will coincide with the death of a major god, so divine classes are likely but not confirmed.

Some possible names:
Commander
Crusader
Avatar
Potato
Banana
Avenger
God eater
M. Sayre
Fighter two
Chronical
Heralder

Flagellant after the death of Zon-Kuthon.

Chronomancer, runeblade, and dreamweaver have 4 vowels each, so it can't be those.

Suppose it depends how you interpret "three vowels."

Chronomancer has a, e, & o.
Runeblade has a, e, & u.

Dreamweaver...well Dreamweaver is a no-go either way.

On Reddit, I've seen some good possibilities:

Diabolist
Strategist
Animist
Ascendant
Exemplar
Warmaster
Aspirant

Taco-cat

Old Cat Lady
Barrister
Flagellant
Godcaller (yes, I know)
Ascetic
Swordmaster
Commoner
Red Shirt Guy

I think one will have something to do with outer planes.
The other might be something to do with channelling dead gods or their divine echoes.

Neither of those are 3-syllable words though, no matter how you pronounce them.

Just gotta pronounce it ru-ne-blade

I'd like to see the Arcanist. That was a nice mix of wizard and sorcerer. If done well, we can use that instead of the wizard.

Some kind of Bloodrager would be fun.

What else could they add that we don't have? hmm.

They said none of the new classes were, um, old classes. They're NEW new, not "published a few years ago" new

Touché.

Given Michael Sayre posted a hint about having written the words “seneschal, weaver, broken, destiny” in somethjng he is working on AND has worked on a Commander class (Battlelord) and veilweaver classes (Akashic Mysteries) for third party publishers (Amora Games and Dreamscarred Press respectively) I still think it could be Commander/Seneschal and (Word/Name)Weaver… Fateweaver works.

If it was a single playtest i would have suggested Harrower, but with two that would be too much.

I honestly think this isn't unlikely, between Stolen Fate and how many heroic harrowers we've seen come out of Arcadia. It might be my favorite pick for the Rare one, even!

I clearly didn’t read the OP clearly enough.

3 syllables.

3 vowels.

Commander works. As does Strategist.

Fateweaver does not work, as it has two vowels, one that occurs three times (e), and one that occurs twice (a).

Godcaller works. And Michael Sayre likes Godcallers of Sarkoris.

Symbiote works, even if “y” is “sometimes a vowel”.

Banana doesn’t work, because it tastes yummy.

I like the idea of Apostate as having something to do with a dead god. Or Incarnate

Godcaller definitely not gonna be one, that's just a Summoner.

I'm pretty sure that the point would be to not have a new class completely replace an existing one.

My wishes:

1) SHINOBI, a mix of Arcanist, Brawler, Ninja and Samurai.
2) MYSTIC, a mix of Medium, Mesmerist and Spiritualist.

Anyone else not thrilled that Paizo will be putting so much development against a Rare class that many may never get a chance to play?

That seems like something you need to bring up with your GM.

Precisely my point. I'd rather see time and energy going into more universal options.

Not really. Having Rare options is good. Gunslinger and Inventor are both Uncommon. That hasn't caused any problems.

Who are these 'many' people who won't get to play with the Rare options?

I'm pretty happy with the idea that they're going to be messing around int he weird crevices of potential gameplay... and the Rare tag is an occasional side effect of that.

I'll answer your snarky question with a snarky question.

How did you come about the omniscience to assert that Gunslinger and Inventor being Uncommon hasn't caused any 'problems?'

Joking aside, not all tables allow Gunslingers and Inventors. It's not a stretch to imagine that some will also not allow whatever this Rare class ends up being.

I guess I feel there are other, more universal concepts I'd like to see developed before digging into niche classes (shaman, shifter, inquisitor & medium all come to mind quickly). And I don't need to go through my GM as gatekeeper to play what I want to play.

Rarity is a tool not a bludgeon.

Plenty of people banned Gunslinger in P1 without Rarity.
