Howdy Everyone,
I have a question. What is the best choice of a race and class combo/match? I don't want to go with a human. I am wanting to see something out side the norm. What would you choose. Then tell me why you chosen that combo/match. Any race from the Core/Featured/Uncommon. 15 point buy system.
Thank You

Tiefling kyton spawn infernal sorcerer.
Kyton-Spawn
(Shackleborn) +2 Con, +2 Cha, –2 Wis
+ Fiendish Sorcery: Tiefling sorcerers with the Abyssal or Infernal bloodlines treat their Charisma score as 2 points higher for all sorcerer class abilities.
Start with 18 cha before racials end with 22 Cha for sorcerer abilities at level 1

You should first decide what class you want to play and then which race. It really doesn't matter all that much actually, but the more obscure the race, the less it makes any sense to play one in my opinion.
Take a look at the class optimization guides to see which races are best for which classes. I would advise sticking with the standard races. If you don't want to be a human that's understandable for me, I don't like playing a human either.
But just because you don't want to play a human, don't immediately jump at uncommon races... these races are often overpowered/unbalanced and more importantly they're just frickin' weird and they rarely fit in the setting.
One thing that often happened in my group back in the day was that one player would play this bizarre uncommon race, and the only reason for it was to be superspecial and have the best munchkinism/optimization for the character build. It's almost a kind of metagaming.
Some people think that their character can't be special if they play one of the standard races, but that's not how it works. Roleplaying your character will decide how special you are, not your build.
I think an inherent problem with the Advanced Race Guide that it provides options for players you just simply don't want to bother with as a GM. Or maybe I am the only person who feels this way?

Suli Paladin with the unscathed trait is pretty tough. +2 bonus to both STR, and CHA, 7 points of resistance vs. acid, cold, electricity, and fire, and the ability to add elemental damage to your attacks.
Ifrit fire sorcerer works very well. Swap out elemental resistance for wildfire heart, and swap out spell like ability for efreeti magic. Wildfire heart stacks with improve initiative, so you will can get absurd initiatives.
