There is an enormous can of worms here. The rules for mounted combat are confusing. Many threads with hundreds of posts discuss the topic, and there is no clear answer. The short answer is probably, "Yes, both you and your mount can gain the benefits from when your mount charges.".
Exactly how this works is very fuzzy in the details, particularly if the rider and the mount have different reach (e.g. knight with lance on a horse). It's probably best if you and your GM just hand-wave the details and roll dice for the charge attacks.

your mount cannot attack because movement stops when the lance hits.
This is incorrect, both by game rules and how it works in real life.
Make sure that both you and the mount threaten the target at the same time to get maximum benefits.
This is wise. There are ways around this problem (e.g. readied actions), but it's good advice.

You must move to the closest space from which you can attack the opponent.
The charge must end at the first square you may legally attack from. If your weapon has a greater reach than your mount, or your mount has a greater reach than your weapon, one of you is not attacking.
What rules are you referring to?
and how it works in real life.
Completely irrelevant. Mounted Combat in this game was never like how it is in real life.

Mounted lance: if your mount charges a target and another target is 10 feet away, can you and your mount 'charge' different targets? Does the extra charge 'to hit' last until the beginning of your next turn? Does 'spirited charge' extra damage apply to attacks of opportunity until the beginning of your next turn?

If the same destination square is the closest square from which you and your mount can each attack your chosen target. edit: Actually, this might work, probably once in your career, if you have an opportunity to lance a second rank opponent while your mount stomps the front rank.

These only apply to your charge attack.

I'm currently playing a mounted halfling paladin. The lance gives me reach, so I declare the charge I attack from a square that is at a distance of 10 feet then using my Ride-by-attack feat I continue to move attacking with my mount when it's in reach and finally I move away if I still have movement available. Am I doing right?

I don't see a problem with that, at the very least I think that might be the rai. Personally I highly agree with Magda Luckbringer that the mounted rules are too messed up. When I'm gming I usually just end up having to declare half the rules function this way without any real backup from the books. For the most part I think mounts in the game get kidna screwed over on average anyway with dungeoning and everything, that letting them have a little leeway in combat has never been an issue.
