I'd apologize for necroposting, but that isn't exactly new to this thread OR this topic. I'm just surprised nobody and I mean NOBODY thought the following:
*Paizo often makes errata and FAQs for feats. That means if content doesn't make sense to the writers, they will clarify what they'd do with it. A lot of people consider these clarifications secondhand RAW or canonized RAI.
*Given the above, isn't it just possible nobody brought this up to Paizo, for them to clarify either way? Silence isn't inherent endorsement.
*Writers are on the record having rewritten feats or scrapped their original unpublished versions and starting from scratch. IIRC the weapon leash is a move action instead of a free or swift action because A) they didn't remember lanyards like hatchets, sabers, and machetes have, and B) the writer who tried to make it work IRL (with yarn as the cord and SOAP as the weapon) couldn't retrieve the object quickly. Which I'm pointing out to illustrate that yes Paizo's writers DO care about the practicality of non-EX or SU items and effects.
So what I'm pestering you all six years later to say is: you never once did what you should have done. You should've tried to contact someone whose answer matters. Paizo. And even they get it wrong, but at least you'd have learned what to do about it in Society.
