I was reading a description that states the following:
Starting at 1st level, you possess the amazing senses of these primal hunters. You gain keen senses, granting you a +2 racial bonus to Perception checks. You also gain darkvision to a range of 60 ft., and the Scent ability. At 5th level, your senses become more acute, increasing your racial bonus to Perception to +4 and your darkvision increases to a range of 90 feet. At 7th level, your racial bonus increases to +6 and your darkvision increases to 120 feet. At 11th level, your racial bonus increases to +8, and you gain the blindsense ability.
When I read the blindsense it states, The creature with blindsense usually does not need to make Perception checks to notice and locate creatures within range of its blindsense ability, provided that it has line of effect to that creature.
As seen above there is no mention of distance, is there a typical blindsense range? would it be based on other visions? Also does having blindsense and scent help (or improve) one another?
Thanks for the assist :-)

So within 30 feet of the character at level 11, you wouldn't need to make a perception check to notice something, which could include an auto-detection of traps too. Outside of that 30 feet though, you'd need to make perception checks as normal in order to notice something was there or not. I can't recall the feat, but I think there's a feat somewhere that increases the range of your blindsense by 10 feet.

By RAW, you wouldn't get an auto detect traps by walking by them with blindsense, but I'd probably allow that if you also had trap sense or stone cunning. It's a good house rule anyways.
