Having a bit if a dispute with the rest of my group.
I'm playing a Fighter with an Intelligence of +2, and we've just hit 5th level in our last session. Fighter (2) + Int (2) = 4.
So I gain 4 points for ever level. 4 x 5 = 20. Duh.
But what I'm wondering is this;
Do you also gain Skill Points at character creation or "level 0". I distinctly remember reading this somewhere but I don't remember where.
Much appreciated if you could reference the rule book and page. Thanks.

There isn't a "level 0". You're first level is lvl 1 so you would gain the skill points for that level, 2 from fighter and 2 from your int. Then each level you gain, you get those points again. So you're 5th level fighter should have 20 skill points (unless he puts any Favored Class Bonus points into skills).

There is no level 0, to clarify your little situation read the fighters skill point entry. It says "Skill points per level: 2+int modifier." You gain 2+int mod skill points at every level, not 2+int mod skill points at every level for every level you have. In short you should have 20 skill points total.

Haruhiko88 is correct.
You should gain 4 additional skill points for gaining a level, not counting the "favored class bonus" if you choose to add another skill point rather than an additional hit point.
so the total skill points (not counting the favored bonus)
1st level: 4 skill points
2nd level: 4 more skill points gained, for a total of 8
3rd level: 4 more skill points gained, for a grand total of 12
4th level: 4 more skill points gained, for a grand total of 16
5th level: 4 more skill points gained, for a grand total of 20.
If you are human, you gain 5 skill points rather than 4 at each level.
If fighter is your favored class (it should be if that is your only class), you have the option to either gain an additional skill point OR an additional hit point when you gain a level.
Hope this makes sense.
