Spell Retraining

Hi there!
I'm making my first PFS character, and I have a question when it comes to "doubling up" on a spell known and retraining.
Draconic bloodline gives me Mage Armor for free at level 3. However, I am concerned I won't make it that far without it. If I took it at level 1, would I at level 3 have two copies of the spell known, the original which I could retrain at 4, keeping the bonus spell? Or would I need to not take it until level 3?

Yes, you can choose the spell as a regular spell known at level 1. You'll have two copies of the spell known at level 3 and can retrain the regular copy at level 4 with your class ability.

You could also just make it through your first scenario and use two prestige to buy a wand to tide you over until you get the spell for free at 3rd.
To be honest, I don't think I took mage armor as a spell known on my sorcerer until 5th level. Just stay out of melee and you should be ok.

Another option is to pick up a wand of mage armour for 2pp before you hit second and use that keeping your actual spells for more offensive stuff. at least until burning a level 1 spell is neither here nor there for resources

The problem with this is we're talking about a Draconic Sorcerer. Those kinda want to get into melee to make good use of their claws.

A slight variation on the above, since you'll only need it until you hit 3rd level, is to just grab a few potions or scrolls of Mage Armor for about, oh, 6 castings or so.

25 gp for a scroll before your first mission.
Then use the proceeds from the mission, or 1 PP, to get a scroll with 6 more castings of Mage Armor on it.
By that point, unless something odd has happened, or you are going slow track, you should be third level, and have Mage Armor on your known list.
