Okay, so this is probably a dumb question...

But why do many of the bad guys in the last two AP modules seem to be missing the lower level of spells in their stat blocks?

Take the Pleasers from City of Locusts for instance. They only have listings for 5th, 6th and 7th level spells; what happened to 1st through 4th level? I've been looking through my MA book and I don't see a blanket immunity for mythic PC's against spells up to 4th level.

So what am I missing? Scoured the forums to see if anyone else had asked this question to no avail. So either I am missing something extremely obvious or I am the first to notice the omission. I am leaning towards the former...

I don't have City of Locusts yet, but is it possible that those enemies have the "simple arcane spellcasting" or "simple divine spellcasting" ability?

Simple Arcane Spellcasting: The creature gains the ability to cast spells from the sorcerer/wizard spell list. Select a number of spells with total spell levels equal to twice the creature's CR. No spell for this ability should have a level higher than 1 + 1/2 the creature's CR. A 0-level spell counts as 1/2 spell level toward this total. The creature can cast each of these spells once per day. Its caster level is equal to its Hit Dice. It uses the higher of its Intelligence or Charisma modifiers to determine its spell DCs.

I didn't notice that but then I'm a little ways out from running these so I didn't take a close look at the stat blocks. It could be a simple matter of the developers dropping those lines to save space since the encounters are of such a power level that those spells are unlikely to factor in.

I briefly checked through Herald of the Ivory Labyrinth (since you said this applied to the last two adventures), and in that adventure all spellcasters list all levels from 1 and up (even the 20th-level spellcaster), except one type of enemy who indeed has the "simple arcane spellcasting" ability.

I'd assume the same is true for City of Locusts.

Makes sense. I will need to read up more on that ability. Mythic definitely complicates things...
