Mythic Craft and Crafting Speed

Rules Questions

Normally, by the way I read it, and I could be very wrong, magic items normally take a day per 1k gold of the base price. so a greater hat of disguise, would normally take 12 days (6 days if I'm willing to take the +5 to the DC).

The path ability Mythic Craft says you make double progress with each roll, but I'm not sure if that only applies to crafting mundane items (which have an explicit "progress" check) or if it halves the production time of magic items too.

TLDR Does the success or failure check of crafting magic items count as a "progress" check for the purposes of crafting magic items in conjunction with Mythic Craft?

Mythic Craft sais:

"When you use the Craft skill to create an item, you double the progress each check provides. In addition, you can make an item masterwork simply by paying for the cost, and don't need to increase the time to create the item or attempt additional checks. Add your tier to any skill checks associated with making magic items."

Only mundane items. There are mythic feats for crafting magic items that can also reduce time.

I would say yes to it speeding up magic items, it even let's you add to the check if it's a magic item. I believe it's the complement to below.

master craftsman

You are confusing the mythic path Mythic Craft with the mythic feat Mythic Crafter.

The feat sais: "you double the progress each check provides". Craft skills make multiple checks. Crafting magic items only have a single check.

For reference, here are some mythic feats:
mythic-brew-potion
mythic-craft-magic-arms-and-armor
mythic-craft-rod
mythic-craft-staff
mythic-craft-wand
mythic-craft-wondrous-item
mythic-forge-ring
mythic-scribe-scroll
mythic-master-craftsman
mythic-crafter

Most of those feats are 3rd party so no I'm not confused. Mythic crafter the feat let's you craft mythic items it says nothing about speed. The op asked about speed part to the universal path ability Mythic Craft to which I said yes it would work with magic items too.

However, Mythic Craft and Mythic Crafter are core mythic, and the OP referred to the path and not the feat.

I guess I hadn't comprehended the language in that mythic ability, but I'm now inclined to believe that only functions for Crafting mundane equipment.

And that is bad design on the part of d20pfsrd. That's 3rd party material mixed in with Paizo stuff. I wonder if that means they fixed the Iceberg terrain and black pudding" link being mythic spells...let's find out.

Yeah I ninja edited. Sorry about that am at work with a stubborn machine tonight.
