Curing Lycanthropy

Rules Questions

Is there no cure for lycanthropy after 3 days? This seems incredibly harsh for any group with no access to a 12th level caster.
I know wolfsbane allows another save, but players still won't know if they're successful until it's too late, by my understanding.

After 3 days, wolfsbane is your only real option short of divine intervention.

Players forced to resort to wolfsbane would be well advised to tie ensure that they are manacled or otherwise restrained during the full moon after taking the poison. If they transform, well, no harm done, and they can try again next month.

Looking at the Afflictions page, it states that any affliction without a cure listed can only be removed with magic, so in this case, Remove Curse, which seems to answer my question.
The trouble is, every page describing lycanthropy states incomplete/contradictory rules; someone needs to tighten this up.

The thing that you have to remember is that wolvesbane itself is a poison. The herb might cure you of lycanthrophy only to kill you. :)

Silver bullets make a mighty fine cure.
