Divine Intelligence Caster?!?

Rules Questions

Hopefully simple question.

I thought I read something about this, but now I can't find it. My 'search-fu' must be weak today.

How or is it even possible to get a divine caster that uses intelligence for the casting stat?

Apparently, I was remembering wrong.

Might have been in 3.5... I thnik they were called the archivist? Might be mistaken...

Archivist used Int. They had divine versions of spellbooks too. Made the best mystic theurges too.

Yeah, I don't believe there is an equivalent in Pathfinder.

Ok, that must have been what I was thinking. Dang!

4e Invoker is a Int-based divine caster. Pretty similar to a wizard except you summon angels instead of demons and elementals.

No longer a rules answer, but I too felt the need for an Int-based divine caster, so I made the prelate. It's pretty heavily cribbed from the 3.5 Archivist. It's pretty useful and is a bit more balanced that the Archivist, as specific rules were modified to curb the power of the 3.5 version. I hope you find it helpful.

I like it, but my group is fairly against homebrew classes. I might try to talk them into it, but it is probably a no go.

Actually, the 4E Invoker is wisdom based. 4E has no Int based divine characters, but it does have Int based healers (Artificers).

I had a player user it for about 4 years, 1-20, and so had some heavy playtest results. It's it's basically a divine wizard with a bard feature instead of a specialized school.

Hmm. This inspires a new house rule.

Clerics with the Knowledge domain can choose to be INT-based. Maybe Magic and Rune, too ...

Thematically it seems like you could have an Inquisitor archetype built to function off INT pretty easily. I'm actually sort of surprised there is not one.

I believe there's a third-party Priest class that may be INT-based; it's sort of a combination between a Bard and a Cleric.

Has there been anything added along these lines, now that they have so many more options/resources that have been published in the last year & a half?

Occultist archetype called the reliquarian seems to fit the bill?

It uses Intelligence for casting but it uses Wisdom to determine the amount of Focus that you have. So it's a little MAD.

Necro / bump

Anything new here?

Not worth the necro.

No, no new archetypes or classes have been released that use Intelligence for Divine casting.

If you are willing to use 3rd party material, there is a Spell Finesse feat can turn any spellcasting class into an Int (or Wis or Cha, as desired) based caster. Note that class features that do not directly involve spellcasting remain unaffected.

As part of my 'Unchained Cleric' idea, I would have potentially have this as a new D6 divine caster.

Archivist was WIS and INT based

Living Grimorie from Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Horror Adventures. Uses int instead of wisdom
They also bludgeon people to death with the spellbook
