Great job, Guys. 118 total games submitted for PbP Game Day 2. :)
The deadline for game submissions has now passed, and the game list was submitted to Paizo.
If you submitted a game to GM and do not get your PDFs, for those running regular PFS Scenarios, added to your Paizo downloads by Tuesday evening, April 2nd, 2014, please let us know at PFSOnlineVOs@GMail.com so we can get that worked out.
(Paizo is usually pretty quick turning those around, so some of you may even have them this weekend.)
We will send out details to the GMs next week that will detail how to report your games, boon details, the event number, and all that.
If you have not received the GM Detail email by Friday, April 4th, 2014 @ 5 PM GMT please drop us an email at the address above and we will forward that info to you.
Thanks again!

Jesse,
If a GM has a group of players finishing up a game after the Deadline starts, can the GM start a new game eligible for Boons? I realize that the GM won't get support from PFS, but will the late start game still be eligible for boons?
Sior |
Sure. As long as actual play does not start until the game day - Discuss away. :)

Is it too early to start play threads (with nothing specific to the scenario being played)?
One of the games I'm playing in, the characters are just sitting around shooting the breeze. No gameplay has happened other than information and standard banter. And some dancing.

I'd like to know this as well. I intend to run another game after I finish the first one if time permits.
Also, is it time to panic yet if I have not received my scenario download?

Absolutely - as long as you can finish the new game by July 5th, 2014.

Similar but possibly different question: the game I submitted will almost certainly not happen (need two more, minimum). If I start another game, would it be eligible (not concerned about getting access to scenarios)?

Since GMs can continue to run games under the Gameday if they finish the first ones early, you could change the scenario you are running. It was stated somewhere that you won't get the scenarios put in your downloads, but that doesn't seem to be an issue for you. I know a few GMs are in the same position. I think if you send an email to Jesse asking him to remove the scenario and submit another through the submittal form, you'd be good.

Great! Thanks.
Broken Prince |
Due to games ending I find myself with three free 2nd level characters, any chance of a GM being willing to run a PBP game, ideally Rise of the Goblin Guild, but I would happily take anything I have not played. I believe such a game would still be eligible for the gameday?
You don't get if you don't ask, so I'm asking ;)

You can basically do one of two things.
Call it as if running at a Con and running long, essentially getting credit for what you completed (if there are a certain number of objectives needed for completion) and if you completed (I think) 3 or more encounters getting credit for that (+1 XP, +1 PP and Fame). Secondary objectives depend on if they where accomplished or not.
or
Continue on and finish the game, but it will not count as a Game Day Event, (just a normal PFS game).
Alternatively, you can try to rush through play the last week or so.

Thanks, GM Beckett. :)
Kyshkumen: GM Beckett's suggestion are basically your options. Let us know if you have any other questions or need clarification.
Sessions # 1 - 32 have been reported to Paizo. [All that has been reported to us as of 2014-05-17]
Sessions # 1 - 2 have had their boons sent out.
We will send out any boons won for sessions # 3 - 32 Sunday evening when I get back from the local FLGS games.
Any sessions reported after that will be sent out next weekend.
Thanks!
The Broken GM |
@Jesse Davis submitted two games, via the method advised in the first post, but they do not appear to be listed nor have I received a reporting link. One of the games has just wrapped up, and the other will be shortly.
I am reasonably sure I filled out the form correctly and everything seemed to go through okay. What would you advise me to do? I was hoping to report the games to the gameday before reporting them normally.

My Understanding of it is:
If nothing is cast on you during the scenario - you would just indicate to the next GM that you are using the boon - and just keep doing that until you actual trigger the effect that would get you the boon save bonus or DC increase, whichever you end up choosing.
Once a spell is cast on you, and you fail the save, you choose which of the two options you want to use you then cross the effect you do not want off the list and indicate on the sheet you picked the other option.
You then get to use the benefit of that option once for free. After you use it, it should be indicated on your boon that you used it once for free.
Each use after that would cost you 1 PP to use the option you chose after the one free use.
That make sense?
Question on the Boons:
If for Choice #1, what happens if no spell is cast upon your character during the scenario. Does the boon continue on to the next scenario and last until a spell is cast against you?
DM Beckett |
Question: What happens if a game does not finish? Are we allowed to finish the game, and just not qualify for the convention boons, or what?
I'm just quoting myself so I don't have to retype it. :)

GM Boons:
Each GM will get one of the current seasonal GM Race Boon when they report their first game to the PFS Online VOs via the web solution mentioned above. Each GM will only get one Boon for running during the PbP game day. The current GM Boon is the Oread Race Boon (Earth Elemental Race).
Player Boons:
At the conclusion of each game, the GM and the players will all roll a raw d20 in the virtual presence of the GM, only at the time the GM indicates, and in the game thread. (Alternatively the GM is allowed to roll for all the players as a public list of rolls on the Forum they are running the game in, instead of allowing the players to roll individually themselves.)
Anyone who rolls a natural 20 will get the boon of their choice (see selection below).
Anyone who rolls a natural 1 will get a random boon, determined by the GM rolling a d4 and matching that with the Boon number below.
(As stated above, the GM is also allowed to participate in this boon roll to also have a chance to win a boon in each game.)

I never received this email, and when I reported a game (#58 I believe), I noted that I was not sure if we should roll or not, and jut posted the Boon each player would like. I also emailed the PFSVC email, with a minor correction, but have not gotten a response, (which is fine, I think it was a week ago or less) asking about that. I was curious what I should do, and it might be a good idea to resend that email, because I know I was not the only GM that wasn't sure.IronHelixx Regional Venture-Coordinator, Online |
Thanks, Beman.
DM Beckett: I will find your email - sorry it was missed.
I have been trying to report games on Sunday's but ended up running a local game day this Sunday and got home later than usual. We will post the games tomorrow night and send out boons for the latest batch of reporting.
Thanks!

@VC for Online Play...
The Confirmation...
Have character who disappeared in the middle of the encounter after the pool. Depending how encounters are tracked, that could 5 1/2 encounters are complete. They missed an optional encounter and the last encounter.
I have no heard from that person since. How should this be handled?
1. Report them as having played and prepare a chronicle with full xp minus whatever gold based on the last encounter'; or
2. Don't report anything; or
3. Some other course of action?
IronHelixx Regional Venture-Coordinator, Online |
They would have completed enough encounter for 1 XP, but would not have done enough for either the Primary or Secondary success condition.
They would only get the gold from the encounters they completed.
Report them as part of the game as usual.
Let us know if you have any issues.
Thanks!
