OK, so let's say my character is Ezren with no Divine skill. I'm exploring and I encounter a Detect Evil spell. Can I use my d4 buffed up with some blessings and whatever other help the other characters can give to acquire it so that I can pass it to Kyra on a future turn when she's at my location?
What I'm really asking is the power that says "If you do not have the Divine skill, banish this card." -- when does that power get invoked?
Here's what I think: Ezren can acquire the card, and he's not forced to use the power, so he doesn't have to banish it. He can therefore keep it until he and Kyra are together at a location at the start of his turn, when he can then pass it to her?
This is somewhat contrived, as I can't see doing this for a Detect Evil, but there are better spells that this might be important.

When you invoke the powers box of the card. Until then, it's just a spell card you put in your hand.
This is similar to something my friend and I were discussing earlier today. He says that if a spell like Cure were to be acquired by say Valeros, who does not have Devine, can still activate and use the card one time to heal himself or someone else. It would be a one time use and would have to banish it after the effects happen since he doesn't have Devine, but is still able to use it.
My friend said he saw people discussing it on the boards and saying yes it was in fact legal to do, but after looking, I can't find this discussion anywhere. His reasoning is that it acts as a one time use scroll, and maybe that is the case, but I still find it odd to be able to do that, and if there were ever to be scroll type cards, they would probably be in the item category. Anyway, I'm just wondering what the official ruling is on this. Thanks.

It's simply reading the card. The cards all state in the part after the power of the card that if you don't have Arcane/Divine skill banish this card. So, you do the power, then check to see if you have that skill. Then, once you find that you do, you can then see what the recharge skill requirement is and try to pass it.
So, you read all the cards from top to bottom doing what they tell you.

I don't think you can use more than one power in the power section (unless, as with weapons sometimes, it says "additionally, you may") of a card. I thought you could (again unless expressly says otherwise) do one of the powers. Thus, if you don't have Divine, the only thing you can do with the card other than pass it to someone else at your location at the start of the turn is to banish it.
