So I'm only 3 scenarios into Hook Mountain but a number of cards have gotten removed from the game already and I'm curious what boons (if any) that everyone has chosen to keep rather than take out of the box?
So far the only thing I've chosen not to remove was a Cure spell (extra possible heals seem like a good thing to me).

My Sajan became Drunken Master, which I had been planning for since starting the Adventure Path, so I kept all potions in.
I also had Ezren planning for Illusionist. Invisibility is Basic, but has no limit on the level of monster nor does it have the mental trait (unlike most of the other evade spells). So I kept it so he could have an evade spell that monsters immune to mental traits couldn't block. He doesn't actually have it in his deck yet, but I made sure when we saw it early in Hook Mountain Massacre not to remove it.

I am currently trying a 6 character game where I try to keep hold of my BOTG as much as possible, so that as the game progresses I can discard them easier. Not sure how it will turn out, but we'll see. And I would keep the cures in the game as well. Kyra is a great healer but any help the cure spell can provide is great.

This post has me thinking that maybe I should have looked ahead at the role cards. I like to be surprised by stuff but I have both Ezren and Sajan in my game and hadn't really given any thought to what I might need later based on role selection. Oops.

We haven't been removing Cure spells, or BoG's. We started off not removing any allies that grant explores but we changed our minds and started getting rid of them the last couple scenarios.
It's actually very rare for BotG to be Banished (only happens if you use it for a 'banish a card' effect, for closing locations or the like, or if it's in the deck when you close a location from henchmen).
Tidying up at the end of play is not counted as banishing.

I've removed from the game every single, solitary BotG for which I had opportunity to do so. For the first group I was in (4 characters) that got though Hook Mountain Massacre, that amounted to 2 BotGs being removed. For the second group (3 characters) it totaled to 0. They are rare to have banished, so they are rare to be removable. I figure I'll maybe get 10 removed total for the whole Adventure Path. That shouldn't create any risks with not having enough blessings and it also slightly increases my chances for encountering a "proper noun" blessings to acquire from locations.
But leaving them in for the auto-acquire/free explore is also a very valid strategy to employ.
NOTE: I posted this in the wrong thread before somehow. This is where it belongs.

Haha I didn't even notice.
Got a quick question about Ezren's various role powers since I actually looked after I read your post - regarding his Evoker power where he gets the +2 bonus with the force (+ others if you add more feats) trait.
Is that giving you +2 with the force trait added to whatever you are already playing or is it adding +2 IF you have a check where you already have played a card to give you the force trait?
I'm pretty sure it's the second option but just wanted to check.
(Either way I'm probably going Illusionist as well - moving a monster to the bottom of the deck seems way better - even when the +2 actually applies (which is going to cost a lot of feats unless more force spells appear later) it's just not that great of a bonus vs basically eliminating monsters that you probably won't have to fight)

Yes. It definitely increases checks that have those traits.

I also really like Enfeeble for Illusionist Ezren. That allows him to choose either the top or the bottom. So if it is the Villain or a Henchman that he encounters and he isn't prepared to fight them, he can play Enfeeble and leave them there for someone else.
Of course Enfeeble has the mental trait. So Invisibility still has that going for it.
