(note: i normally avoid punctiation on most things unless they are rather long)
First question: is there ANY way to transport an active game about without destroying the decks
my school plays this every tuesday and i play it at home as well causing me to have to reset the game back to default every time
second question: what charecter is the BEST for beginners
i play as seoni but no one on the limited group i have at school likes playing as seelah lini kyra or lem this causes slight issues at home its lem valeros and seoni
third question: why are some cards paler on the back than others
just somthing i saw on a few cards
fourth question: is there a way to set the game up faster
this is major as we waste time setting up decks and shuffling and making sure that everything is correct meaning our hour or so of limited time at school is chopped in half if we get lucky

I'm pretty new myself, but I'll take a crack at some of these:
First - You can use rubber bands or something similar to keep decks together in the box while transporting them. You can put character decks in the slots designated for character decks. This doesn't help if you are running two or more campaigns. In that case, I see no way to keep the decks between the different campaigns unless you buy another box set. Characters can be recorded using the downloadable/printable character sheets for the game.
Second - In my experience, games like this are extensively playtested by the creators to make everything pretty even. So each of the characters should be about the same to play. That said, the "best" character is the one you like the best. My wife loves Lini because she relates to Lini being petite and a lover of all animals.
Third - Different printings. It's been recently discussed that the second printing of the character add-on deck was printed in the US, while all the first printing was done in China. The US cards are a smidge smaller, and the backing coloration is slightly different. Being a cooperative game, this shouldn't really matter.
Fourth - Practice. Also, you can set it up ahead of time to have it ready for a gaming session. Want to play at school? Set up the location decks and even the character decks before school or the night ahead. Put rubber bands on the decks, then simply pull them out and play.
Side note: Punctuation isn't difficult. And it is much appreciated. :-)

thank you for not screaming at me for not having two hands to type this since i was eating some icecream at the same time (the icecream was yummy) i play seoni since she fits my playstyle and is like me in a way (people think im insane and a drug dealer/addict due to my apperance thank my school and my clothes for that one XD) one slight issue with assembling the decks ahead of time is that our number varies depending on if the english teacher can play or if she is busy so if i aim for three decks and she wants to play thats two more i need

Some pretty good answer you got there.
I'd just say this:
2. The characters are supposed to be about even, but different people are going to like different characters. That being said, some are "easier" from the stand point of being less rules in regards to their powers. Seelah, Valeros, and Seoni are good examples of this. Ezren is a challenge to play, but can be exceptionally valuable.
4. If you play in a group, get everyone involved in the setup. Have 1 person put the weapons in the location decks, another do the spell, another the monsters.
And I don't know that it will help with the "setup" but I made this stuff to help with the organization of the layout of the game. It might help you too.

i was thinking about ezren but he seems more of a group player than a trio player or a double player and i cannot download that no account there and i just realized somthing they should make an expansion for this game for up to eleven players just for people who manage to convince/bribe/kidnap enough people to play but theres too many now

Agree with above suggestion, just rubber band the decks to transport.
I would suggest Valeros or Harsk for a complete beginner. Valeros is strong and his abilities are pretty clear to use (people at his location get a combat bonus and he recharges weapons instead of discarding). Harsk is also fairly clear cut and is better at helping *other* people instead of himself - he recharges a card to give someone at another location a bonus and also can look at the next card at his location at the end of his turn. There are other strong characters but I think their abilities are a bit more complicated or they require more experience to play well.
Regarding set up time I can tell you that if you keep playing you will get better/faster at it. I play a 6 character SOLO game and while initially it took me a *long* time to set up, I probably cut my time in half once I did it a few times and got a system down. But, if all you have is an hour, that's going to be tough.
In terms of tips - if you're not already doing this, I'd lay out all the locations and then take each card type, shuffle it, and lay down the cards from that deck in front of each location that requires them. So put down all the blessings in front of locations that have them, then grab the allies, do the same, etc.. Then the other thing is definitely have the people you're playing with help you with the shuffling, that can take forever if you're shuffling 10 decks alone.

If you set up locations for the maximum number of players you would expect, all you would have to do is quickly dismantle a location deck if your teacher is unable to play. Don't add in the villian/henchmen right away either. Just set them aside and quickly shuffle the correct number in once you know the number of players you will have.

You can use small zip lock bags or similar to keep the character decks seperate. I use the bags that card slieves come in for mine. If you set up the adventure before hand and store the location decks the same way then set up becomes quicker.
Agree. If you use rubber band, might leave mark to your card as it grip it plus zip lock bag is easy+cheap to get if you don't sleeve and live in a country where 'boardgame' is a word that rarely use.
BTW I've used the zip lock bag trick and its easier to transport all the needed game component without the box and worries.

okay i managed to play a game of four people and pretty much this is what we did:
my aunt was lini
my uncle was harsk
my grandfather was amiri
and i was seoni
my aunt died first since she got into too many fights without healing causing her to run out of cards
we then found vhiski in the woods and my grandfather killed him but he escaped
after digging through the waterfront we found the blessing of the gods in it so we all aimed at the farmhouse and i managed to encounter him
he killed me very quickly
my grandfather managed to shuffle so terribly he drew all weapons and managed to beat up the bad guy without using a weapon
since harsk and lini are no playing they didn't get rewards
are you supposed to use the strength die on basic combat or are you supposed to use a diffrent one i may play solo to give myself a tad bit of an edge so i don't deckout as fast though my reward was a token of remebrance so that should help
then my guinea pig destroyed half the game accidentally

For combat you can either play a cards or use a power that is usable for combat (it will say something like "For your combat check..." Or you can simply use your Strength or Melee skill.
Most monsters and some barriers call for a combat check. Weapons and many other cards that can be used during combat generally tell you what skill to use when you attempt a combat check; if you don’t play such a card, use your Strength or Melee skill.
Regardless of whether you play a card or use pure Strength/Melee, you can still "buff" the check with other cards like blessings or allies. So even if you just use Strength/Melee a card that says "Recharge this card to add 1d6 to your combat check" would still be usable. As would a blessing which says "Discard this card to add 1 die to a check."
Lini, for example, could user her power to reveal an animal ally to add 1d4 to a check, then discard a card to up her strength to 1d10. Then recharge(?) the Sabertooth Tiger to add 1d6 (I think that is the die) to a combat check. Then play a blessing to add 1 die to a check. So she would roll 2d10 + 1d6 + 1d4.
Also, from what I know about guinea pigs, I believe your pet's actions were intentional.

Seoni gets really powerful once you get some feats to add bonuses to her charisma and her power that does damage - but yeah she is definitely one of the ones that takes a beating the most. With that group I'd recommend sticking her at the same location with Lini (assuming Lini has some Cure spells) for possible healing.
Good luck :)

well my aunt was here from canada (she got back from florida) so lini is no longer one of our team so i changed to kyra as no one else thinks healing is interesting
any tips on kyra other than get concecreation as soon as you begin skinsaw murders
Brainwave |

In my 6 player game I actually play Kyra as more of a fighter than a spellcaster - I alternated strength/wisdom skill feats, got her weapon proficiency and added +1 to her undead damage bonus, and she does pretty well in fights even with a d6 strength die. She carries one Cure which she pretty much just casts on herself - I don't think I've ever used her innate heal. Now you might get more out of focusing on spells but that worked for me.
