Shaman and Channel Energy

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Hey Pathfinders!

So, I was wondering, when playing a Shaman (the new class, not the Totemic Druid Shamans), and picking Life as either you main spiritor or through wandering spirit you'll get the ability to Channel Energy right? Right, so I was wondering, does getting that ability that way (even through Wandering Spirit which isn't permanent) enable you to pick all the Channel feats?

I believe yes, as you have the ability to Channel Energy.

Even if you pick Life through your Wandering Spirit which isn't permanent, but must be chosen once per day?

Oh, hmm, well you're right, that is a shaman special thing. I'm not overly familiar with the Shaman and I know it was the class that needed the most work in the playtest.

By strict rules, you don't have the actual class ability so you don't get the feats. By reasonable ruling, you can take the feats for the ability since there is no reason not to allow it.

So in PFS - no. In a private game - talk to your GM.

Similar to feats that don't work when you don't have the proper stats (EX: enlarge with TWF dropping your dex too low) id imagine you can take the feats but they don't work when said ability that lets you channel is not active.
