A human character gets a bonus feat in addition to class feats.
I am not sure we should be discussing "class feats" but rather "bonus feats" from a class and feats gained from character level.
To the OP: Yes, everyone gets feats. Each character gets 1 feat at 1st level and every odd numbered level after that.
Some races, like humans, can get a feat from their race in addition to those normally gained from levels, and many classes also gain feats from their class. Fighters for example gain a bonus feat at first level and one at every even numbered fighter level, so after 1st, a fighter gets a feat at every level.
It is important to separate "class levels" from "character levels" as well here. If you are a level 1 Bard /level 2 wizard, you are still a level 3 character, so you would have 2 feats just from character level like any other level 3 character regardless of what class those levels are in.

Guys it's simple his group probably didn't know about the feats at even levels.
Bonus feats are listed on that chart each class has that tells you BAB and class features by level.
Probably a couple players had classes with bonus feats, and the guy with the bard was like, "huh, my guy doesn't get any."
Something like that.
It's a complicated game.

From the PRD (Pathfinder Reference Document), maintained by the Paizo staff and updated continually as needed,
http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/classes.html
Run down the page to where it says Character Advancement. There is a table showing what every character gains at every level. These gains are inherent to every character, regardless of class. Each character gets to pick the gains listed at each level. A character can pick any feat they qualify for at the levels indicated. This is a player choice, not a GM choice.

The Bard does not generally gain bonus feats (feats that are given by your class in addition to those gained from level advancement). However, some archetypes may trade out certain abilities for bonus feats. If the player chooses an archetype, it replaces everything it says. The player may not cherry pick the best abilities to lose and keep.
I hope this helps some.
