Mythic Pets (Summoner, Druids, and anyone else with an Animal Companion)

Liberty's Edge

I'm not super familiar with all of the options for mythic characters but is there a way for pets/companions to remain competitive at highers mythic tiers? I know there were feats/powers that allow them to count as mythic to avoid being one-shot by spells or give them a mythic surge pool or give them a one-time buff but is there a way to keep up with the general scaling?

As far as I can tell, by tier ten a mythic character has 5 bonus feats, +10 to stats, a boatload of bonus HP, and a number of very powerful tricks. Missing out on the stats and bonus HP seems like a big deal.

Short answer: no.

Longer answer: not really.

DM's might consider granting a simple mythic template, but then again maybe not.

I recommend discovering how to use companions/cohorts more effectively and possibly limiting the upper reaches of mythic tiers.

But I also never plan a character around reaching level 20 because of the groups I play with. The games almost never breach level 13 before ending/crashing. As such, I probably wont plan a character around reaching past tier 5.

Liberty's Edge

I'm not big on super long term planning and honestly, it's not a huge problem for me because the mythic summoner I'm playing is building his eidolon for skill monkeying instead of combat.

It was mostly a random musing. Seems like a pretty major flaw. =/

I suggest taking that one mythic path ability that lets you raise your animal companion easily and cheaply*. Then you can make a running gag out of the Daily Deaths of Fido the Not-Quite-Mythic.

*though it might be even better to take Divine Source or Legendary Item and get raise dead as a spell-like ability instead--no material component!
