Advanced Class Legality after Playtest

I could swear I saw something about this the other day, but I don't recall where.

Once the playtest ends, are the classes legal in their final playtest form until the books come out? Or do they become unplayable during that time period?

Scarab Sages 4/5

Yes they are still legal, Once the ACG comes out you have to update to that class and purchase the book to continue playing.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Also if they put out any revisions, you have to go with the revisions.

For example, you have to use the revised Arcanist, instead of the origional one.

Similar topic, I was wondering if there was any sort of free reroll for characters using playtest classes. There have been a few major changes to some of the classes, and I would hate to make, say, an Arcanist character and suddenly need Charisma with the final class revision.

Sovereign Court 4/5

Oh good, so I can still try a Slayer or Hunter and not have to scrap them as rapidly. Shiny.

There are currently no plans for adding special rebuild rules for the playtest that don't already exist in the campaign.

For reference, here are the rebuild rules I could find.

Organized Play Guide wrote:

If a feat or trait changes or is removed from the Additional Resources list: You have two options. First, you may either switch the old feat for an updated feat of the same name in another legal source (if available), ignoring any prerequisites of the new feat you do not meet. Alternatively, you may replace the feat entirely with another feat for which you meet all the prerequisites.

If a class, prestige class, or a class feature-dependent ability score is altered: You may rebuild your character to its current XP, maintaining the same equipment.

If a class or prestige class changes in such a way that you no longer have proficiency with a given weapon or armor type: You may sell back the affected equipment and only the affected equipment at full market value.

You will be forced to update your character—adjusting only the features that have changed, not rebuilding entirely—once the Pathfinder RPG Advanced Class Guide is released.

See this thread Rebuilds after the Playtest for discussion of rebuilding.

They have repeatedly said we can continue to play the characters used in the playtest but are we permitted to make new characters from the ACG after the Dec 17th deadline? The wording, to me, implies that we may only continue with the characters used from before the deadline.
Sorry if this is redundant but I can't find this specific answer anywhere (possibly because I'm making a distinction that isn't there, but my GM is unclear on it as well so I finally have to ask.).

You can create new ACG class characters right now from the playtest doc and play them up to the release of the ACG, as long as you have a copy of the playtest doc (on screen or on paper) that you and the GM can access at the table.

Once the ACG is released you have to update your PC to the final version of the class (and actually have a copy of the ACG, as with any Additional Resource).

Thank you! I just needed a definitive answer. :)
