Can a Wyrwood be an alchemist?

Rules Questions

I know this might seem like a silly question, but this basically came up while my group and I were making characters: can a Wyrwood use alchemist abilities like extracts, mutagens, etc?

I mean, it doesn't need to eat or drink, so I'm not sure if can actually 'consume' anything.

I also can't remember if constructs can use potions or not, but if anyone can help to clarify this issue, I really would appreciate it. Thanks again.

The ARG has an expanded description of the Construct eat/drink/sleep quality:

Quote:
Constructs do not breathe, eat, or sleep, unless they want to gain some beneficial effect from one of these activities. This means that a construct can drink potions to benefit from their effects and can sleep in order to regain spells, but neither of these activities is required to survive or stay in good health.

Emphasis mine. Should clear up any questions.

Per the Bestiary and Advanced Race Guide (ARG), I don't think constructs are very viable as player characters especially at low level. They can't heal by normal means such as Cure Light Wounds or rest. Your Wyrwood alchemist could make a CLW potion for somebody else but it wouldn't do him any good. He/it needs Make Whole, which is second level or the special construct feat -- an even higher level requirement. I think the ARG should have built the Wyrwood as a half-construct; it just doesn't make sense as a construct.
