Isometric town / city builder

Advice

Was wondering if there were any programs out there that could be used to build an isometric town or city map?

Playsets seemed incorporate this, but with two weeks left and not even a third of its way to goal, I'm not sure how long it'll take to even get to beta. Also, if you haven't seen it before, check it out. It's pretty spiff.

So! Does anybody know of anything that can be used to whip up these sorts of maps without having to draw them yourself?

Alternatively, if anybody knows of a collection of stock isometric building images and that could be used in lieu of an actual program, that would be great as well.

Also, here's a little reference if you're unsure of the kind of thing I'm talking about. (gif)

Art is creative commons and from here if you just want to use that directly:

There IS such a tool now (6 years after your post, LOL!).

Go here, scroll down to the "Realistic City" Add-On graphic, and click on it.

You can do fantasy cities, too, and the artwork for that is freely downloadable from a number of websites.

By the way, the Playsets people you mentioned seem to have up and vanished, leaving their backers in a lurch.
