Is that really an appropriate response?

I'm not a Giap fan, 'his' victories were due to the hard fighting and long suffering Vietnamese people, the lives of which he did not hesitate to freely and unnecessarily spend, and his habit of revising history to minimize his mistakes ranks him with the worst Stalinist 'historians', but he fought for, and lead, his country in some terrible wars; surely he deserves a bit of respect.

His tactical genius, more or less, how to defeat a superior opponent with what you have, is required studies at West Point.

Giap, as a journalist knew how to turn the truth better than any thing here at home. His methods, including national identity, are not likely to be repeated again. Honored by your "enemy" is one way in the history or armed warfare is better than anything that lying liberal rag called the New York produces, whom was quite inaccurate as he did not keep fatality numbers on record. In conclusion honor or not, I put him in the same category as I do with other vicious mass murders of marxism/communism. These include Pol Pot, Mao Zedong. Josef Stalin, and Vladimir Lenin.

As for personal respect (to Giap), You're argument is lacks external validity. That and I'm currently watching The History of How We Built the Hand Gun.

His living to 102 sorta takes the sting out of your jokes IMHO.

Oh, more glowing eulogies about ME!!!!

Who the hell are you to question my personal opinion who hides behind 89 aliases?????

It's my fringing opinion why the hell do I need to justify it to you??? Didn't I say that Giap's reputation rest of countless unnamed dead who did the hard died for his beliefs, and that these unnamed victims deserve the credit assigned to him?

Have you read the original Giap's version of his Dien Bien Phu, not the 1964 revision where he covers up how 5/7 RTA slaughtered his troops on the first assault on strongpoint Gabrille?

Woo hoo. The last time the US had material inferiority was in what the War of 1812?? Maybe you should have classes in how to win a war with material superiority, cause you've (the US)utterly failed since 1945 or so.

Giap, for all his faults, was a soldier, not a poilitican.
